He’s literally tampering with mail pieces in the commercial.

Yeah, it's really hard to tell who this ad is trying to convince and of what.

The while time in thinking "yeah, this just supports more why we always hated newman, and is a perfect representation of the unhinged lunatics trying to push mail in voting"

Literally nothing in this clip tells me that mail-in votes are safe and secure to do. If anything it's just one more example of the left not taking shit seriously, and likely just fucking around any way possible to try and ratchet up the chaos as much as possible before the big day

Am I crazy in viewing this as pro-Trump and backing Trump's message of vote in person?

Newman was the arch-nemesis of the title character on Seinfeld. If he was opposed to something, it was typically something the other characters and the viewing public would be in favor of.

As a mailman, he was famous for not delivering the mail, losing mail, hiding mail, etc. He even does that in this bit here (opening others mail). If your postal carrier was Newman, you'd never expect your mail to be delivered (in or out). They just reprised him in that same role, which basically says "hey, the US Post Office is at best incompetent, and at worst maliciously corrupt."

Seems to fit nicely into our narrative, which happens to be true.

This was literally the first I'd ever heard of Pacronym, and I literally had to check to confirm that they were anti-Trump. I honestly thought this was a pro-Trump parody before reading the comments here (and that was after reading the comments on YouTube!!) Now, the mystery is whether Wayne Knight pulled a fast one on the Damnocrats and deliberately made a pro-Trump message on Pacronym's dime or whether he is actually this dumb.

I’ve never watched Seinfeld and had no idea that this guy was a character until I read this comment section. Despite being based on fake news, I thought it was pretty effective at first. I figured it would work well on the low info voters.

Then I kept watching and now I’m not really sure they could have made a worse ad. Why on earth would they then admit to stealing mail and portray mailmen as fat scumbags if they wanted the sympathy of normies.

8
Obamas_Prolapse 8 points ago +8 / -0

Because Hollywood actors (anybody famous really) are omniscient Gods to normies. They can do no wrong.

1
featherwinglove 1 point ago +1 / -0

Why am I imagining you saying this while doing a one-handed head stand and juggling four chainsaws with your free hand?

1
featherwinglove 1 point ago +1 / -0

Worse in terms of getting people to vote for the other side ...meh, I'm not too sure. Worse in terms of production quality and cringe value? Old news for Pacronym!

6
orange_dit 6 points ago +6 / -0

I was confused too. He convinced me how awful mail delivery is. I checked out their other videos just to see if their channel is pro-trump or anti-trump. I wasn't surprised when I saw this radioactive garbage: https://youtu.be/4B-tc3IMpkU?t=19

1
featherwinglove 1 point ago +1 / -0

Wow, I cringed so hard that I damn near swallowed my tongue. I think it has fewer views than the first ever SwarmSim video on YouTube (which I made because it could be the first ever SwarmSim video on YouTube) ...it was an audio disaster because my computer had lost its case fan and I was using a box fan to keep it running, a dollar store mike with a bit of Scott's Shop Towel as a pop filter, and a lot of post-processing in Audacity... commentary still above average for browser game videos because nobody watches browser game videos on YouTube and so nobody makes any good ones, lol! (There are better SwarmSim videos on YouTube now; I mean above average regarding browser games in general.)

I wasn't surprised when I saw this radioactive garbage: https://youtu.be/4B-tc3IMpkU?t=19

Why would you link that to us? Why, pede, why?

Seriously, it starts off with someone shaking her butt at a cartoon biden, and then launches into 30 seconds of "this upcoming person is a CELEBRITY! YOU MUST LISTEN TO HER". Literally had to stop it before they even got around to introducing the celeb because I wanted to vomit.

1
orange_dit 1 point ago +1 / -0

Sorry I should have added a trigger warning. I rarely skip through a video, but this time I did. I saw one more fragment where they were exited about Biden wanting to close private prisons. You know the type of prisons where felons actually have lower rates of recidivism... Can't make this stuff up.

And that’s the character he played in the commercial. He was the nemesis of the show. Tone deaf is putting it lightly. I kinda like it because I enjoyed Seinfeld and I know the character he played as well as himself is full of shit.

If I saw it on SNL in the day (never watch since liberals took over writing) I would have considered that an amusing skit. Since it appears to be political propaganda, it’s really some bullshit

Kalom69 9 points ago +9 / -0

I feel the same way. He got a chuckle outta me when he pulled out the turkey leg and started eating it.

6
Donarudo_Taranpu 6 points ago +6 / -0

When he pulled the turkey leg out I inhaled sharply through my gritted teeth and said, under my breath ohhh nooooo while shaking my head side to side. See, I wasn't sure if someone had tried to mail a turkey leg and Newman was eating the mail or if he's such a fat disgusting slob that he started his route by throwing turkey leg into his mail big so he could snack on it as he goes. Then, soapbox straining and creaking under his massive weight, he lectured me and the President about the noble mailman and his sacred duty. He finished that thought off by opening up someones mail and stealing their cookies. Oh, and then he said he'd open up someone's mail (The President's) and read it and share it with other people.

Frankly at this point I actually hate the USPS more and think it's time to shut them down for good.

8
KnightsofReee 8 points ago +8 / -0

If not for the secret service characters stealing the mailbox, I never would have known this was an anti Trump sketch. The Newman character was the archetypal unreliable, lazy, and incompetent mailman. In this sketch alone, he opens up someone's package to eat the cookies out of it. This doesn't inspire confidence in the mail service's ability to deliver your ballot intact. It does the exact opposite and seems to actually bolster the president's point. The Left can't meme. They can even argue their own points without shooting themselves in the foot.

4
Donarudo_Taranpu 4 points ago +4 / -0

He threw a greasy turkey leg in their too, so he could fish it out later and eat it.

7
PraiseBeToScience 7 points ago +7 / -0

So they picked a guy whose most well-known character was a lazy sleazebag who was emblematic of the "impossible to fire" government worker.

He has a month-old magazine that hasn't been delivered yet, and then puts it in his pocket.

He then opens up someone's mail to eat its contents.

Finally, he ends by threatening to steal Trump's private financial records out of the mail and release them to the public, just because of his personal vendetta.

...

Yeah this definitely inspires confidence in mail-in-voting.
