Really. The Nobel committee has made their awards largely meaningless after the Obama debacle.
Yes, the Obama prize was ludicrous. Back then Obama was revered as a god, not exaggerating. The media and a lot of the elite in Norway has close to never written a single negative word about him ever. During the visit from Obama the entire country was electrified in a bizarre man-worship I have never witnessed before or after.
IMO the 1994 award to Yasser Arafat was when a lot of people really lost their respect for it. No matter what one say; he was a terrorist and leader of an organization that called for genocide and the destruction of another nation. Israel, By many called “The Father of Modern Terrorism”.

I was in Japan when Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize. The Japanese news program covered Obama's Peace Prize acceptance speech, and they counted the number of times that he mentioned "war" (10+) and asked skeptically, "How can a Peace Prize winner talk about 'war' so much?" I was shocked at that criticism, but it opened my eyes to how biased our media in this country was.
