He was on his way home from work tonight and got hit by a drunk driver. He's our janitor at our shop, he has had the job since he was 18(22 now). He's a little slow but is by far one of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He actually doesn't vote at all because in his words he "doesn't understand why it matters". But he's a good Christian man. Never misses church whether it be Sunday or Wednesday. He volunteers at the local homeless shelter serving food his mom cooks every Saturday and Sunday.

I'm just asking for prayers for him tonight. He's good people. If you're not religious maybe just send some good vibes his way if you can. He needs everything he can get at the moment. Thankyou.

Edit: Between work and everything else I forgot to update this. This morning he was awake and talking to us. His body is still very sore but he's doing a lot better than he has been since it happened.

Thankyou everyone for the prayers and good thoughts that were sent his way.

Said a quick prayer for him as well as the hospital workers helping him. Drunk drivers are the worst. I personally don’t drink but have no problem with those that do-so long as they make responsible decisions and don’t drive drunk. Once your choices infringe upon mine, I get angry.

Thankyou so much and they are. I drink here and there but don't understand how people can put others lives at risk like that as well as their own. It's stupid and this is what it causes.

Especially in this day and age with Lyft and Uber, there is no excuse. And what’s usually unfair is if someone is injured or dies, it’s usually not the drunk driver but the person they hit, who wasn’t drunk driving. That’s what makes it so especially frustrating.

“See, kids? If Otis Toole won’t even drive drunk, you certainly don’t have an excuse...”

This year I have had days where I wake up and realize I didn't have anything to drink the day before and didn't even have to "argue" with myself not to. Just was busy with work and hanging out with my kids and didn't have even remember to have that one beer or wine.

And coming from where I was a couple years ago, that's incredible.

My business is doing better. Family life better. More energy. Saving lots of money.

It is so worth it.

Hope you find some help for yourself pede. It's a terrible way to live life as a drunk. I gave up drinking for good a few years ago because I developed a problem. Message me anytime I'm no certified counselor but I do have experience quitting alcohol

When I was in the military we had teams of people on call to drive you and your car home free of charge. Off duty service members and others would volunteer. However MANY people still got DUI's and it was literally unstoppable. Very sad how some people have no respect for human life.

Oh man that is super sad. My great grandpa was an alcoholic. It ended up killing him, but not after he divorced my great grandma and left her a single mom during the Great Depression. She became really bitter and grumpy as an old lady because of her hard life and as a child, it really left an impact on me. That, along with religious reasons, have factored into my decision to never drink. Also, thank you for your service!

It's not hard to be a good person and they should be lifted up when possible.

Drinking and driving is a terrible crime when people get hurt or killed. If you drink and know you can't control yourself, do it at home or within walking/staggering distance from home.

I pray your friend pulls through and recovers successfully. Sounds like the kind of co-worker that can be a core strength of a business.
