I'll admit, I still use Reddit, but just for the 3D printing subs. It's a great community that's very helpful and no politics. It's nice to take a break every once in a while.

I need to get a 3d printer. Can I get something nice in the 500 - 800$ range?

Look into the Ender 3. I have the older model, the new one is called the v2. I suggest it because the support for it is everywhere. Your budget is a bit larger than mine, so maybe the Ender 5? I paid about $230 for mine a few months ago. I put about $100 in upgrades on it, but only $20 were needed. I added an all metal extruder and stiffer bed springs. It's just a hobby for me. You said you needed one.. Why?

I just want to get into it and learn it. Almost endless possibilities

Ah. Then go with the Ender 3 or Ender 5 for sure.
