I think the more accurate expression is “rules for thee but not for me”

I think it’s naive to assume that laws written by the DC elite would ever be used against them. The person you replied to sought fairness not attention however in DC if you want the “fair” outcome to come to pass, you need to fight harder than the next guy. It appears Barr and Durham were never chosen to fight, they were chosen to delay what we here believe to be long overdue justice.

We shouldn’t be surprised that investigators playing politics are not bringing charges against other investigators playing politics, because both of their “competing” interests are political, they attend the same dinner parties while pretending to be ideological opponents, they have ZERO intention of draining a swamp that brought them power and wealth.

They know that “us” being mostly civil would need to be pushed too hard and too fast to stir up the fervor required to depose them and remove their power. They prefer a slow boil, chip away at individualism and replace it with authoritarianism.

When they do bite more than they can chew, and conservatives take to the streets to demonstrate or take focused aim with the meme cannons, the DC power institutions can quickly and easily malign efforts with potent labeling across the politicians, the news media, and culture/entertainment media.
