Every moderator is biased to certain degree so trying to find unbiased one to moderate debate is pointless. Instead they should bring one with obvious conservative bias (Hannity/Gutfeld) and one with obvious liberal bias (Maddow/Cooper).

This way both sides will be challenged every time they want to avoid to answer a question.

Debates should have timekeepers, not moderators.

Just let the candidates have a discussion and ask each other questions.

Yeah, this ivy league debate format hasn't truly ever felt like a debate. Its always one guy saying his piece, being interrupted, then cut off by the moderator, and then like clockwork, CNN declares the democrat the winner. I am over that format. The above idea is nice, and if we could get legit candidates, that would make for a more convincing, legit political landscape, and probably even weed out the extremists. I dont mind seeing them argue, but i cant atand a "moderator" moderating only one side. And this could probably bring out more like Trump, who just tell it like it is.

Debate organization should be dumped altogether.

Exactly.

"Moderators" are there to keep them on the narrative
