My father was an English citizen until after Trump became president. He became naturalized a couple years ago and will be voting for president for the first time. I'm also 19 years old, and this is my first presidential election. Can you guess who we're gonna vote for? ;)
Chicken bacon poutine??? How does that work? I had a duck/cheddar poutine once - entirely too rich and didn't quite work - the cheese stayed in chunks.
I'll be on the lookout. Had never heard of poutine before 2013 or so. Once I heard of it, I saw mentions everywhere. I've only had it a few times - a Canadian colleague treated me while I was over there, and then two attempts in the US that failed.
Proper poutine requires nice crispy fries, some cheddar cheese curds (but they actually taste closer to mozzarella than cheddar), and a nice thick brown gravy with a perfect balance of spice and sweetness to it. That there is your basic poutine.
And then you can shred some chicken, and add bits of bacon, or any other meat as you wish. Sausages, smoked meat, ground beef, etc.
Congrats!! My wife was Canadian as well. She got naturalized in downtown Seattle on July 4th just so she could vote for Trump!!!
I got naturalized last year. Can't wait to vote for the first time in a few days!
Congrats on escaping canuckistan!

Brisket poutine is what patriots eat.
