Career programmer here. I had no idea Biden said coal miners could learn to code. Programming is not for everyone. Just like coal mining isn't for everyone. I would be a terrible coal miner. Maybe you already know how to use a computer and have an affinity for math and logic and can LEARN to code, but then you'll have to get a job. You'll have a hard time getting local work without a degree, especially in a remote area, so you'll probably do freelancing, which means you better be damn good at networking or else you'll be competing for jobs with people from India and China, and others in the US who are experienced programmers.
