FWIW I have seen and heard enough from Barr to trust in his intent, if not his ability.
I think to a large extent he faces massive insubordination at all levels of the DOJ, and I have seen him specifically say that for criminal prosecutions he has to very carefully cross Ts and dot Is, if he doesnt, prosecutions are likely to be labeled political (from fair minded independent observers), and we simply cant have that.
I actually agree with giving the system a wide berth, even though it frustrates and infuriates me. Im not looking to sell my soul to do political persecutions like they did - I am not personally looking to become like THEM. I know some people disagree with this.
These are NOT political persecutions. They have more than enough evidence to not only prosecute but to CONVICT. I am convinced they strung us all along this entire 4 years on purpose praying Trump doesn't get a second term. The deep state has won and that includes Barr.
well first off, I hate to break the bad news, but the deep state won many decades ago when they offed JFK. They havent relinquished control since.
As for having a functional DOJ at all that an actual elected chief executive CAN reform, its not as cut and dried as that, it doesnt happen the way you want it to, because it has to not even have the APPEARANCE of a political prosecution, and that is a very difficult thing to build. As I said, they ave to dot I's and cross T's like a motherfucker. Barr has said this publicly.
They ARE getting some done (Clinesmith), they WILL get more done I am confident. Before the election? I dont know and I dont care, if you care then again you are mixing justice with politics, which is what got us here in the first place.
Obviously I could be wrong - but I knew Sessions was a turd from jump.
But w Barr, I think from what he has said and done thus far he has earned a right to continue to serve at Trumps pleasure, which is his appointment. Remember both Barr and Trump are vested in keeping an APPEARANCE of arms length independence for the DOJ, and I think that is appropriate.
The globalist uniparty opposition already screeches about Barr being Trumps own personal cop, it serves the nation to know Barr is independent and the DOJ objective. Lots of people forget that we arent just fighting for the bext thing for our party,we are fighting to MAGA, not to MRGA (make republicans great again).
To do that, we need all Americans on board with the legitimacy of the DOJ and our institutions even if they politically disagree. It works AGAINST us to go down the same path they have and politicize these institutions for short term political gain.
I believe there WILL be justice, but not on a political timetable. And it may not result in criminal prosecutions that some people want to see - because you have to remember that laws are intentionally crafted to ber very vague when it comes to activities that can be construed as actions meant in good faith - take for example russiagate itself.
Comey is on record in the last month as saying, point blank, that he HAD to investigate the russia links, it would have been actionable malfeasance NOT to. It doesnt matter that this is a lie, what matters is that the letter ofthe law supports these grey area assertions. You have to just accept this.
Its like Al Capone only getting convicted of tax evasion, when everyone knew his crimes were orders of magnitudes greater. You have to give the DOJ the chance to make the cases they can make, and those may not be what you hope or expect or seem correct from a common sense what-we-know standpoint. Im sorry to bring reality to you, but thats what it is.
The laws ARE that way because we DONT WANT a bana republic where piolitical figures are thrown into gulags - LIKE WE HAVE SEEN DONE THE LAST 3 YEARS - so the choice is being like them, or rejecting that and being the Constitutional Republic patriots that we are and going back to the system of justice where the results might be slow or seem lenient, but we stay strict to what we can prove and only actions that have well-documented criminal intent.
I realize thats not a popular opinion - and I DO THINK we will see more criminal prosecutions from all this, just not on the election-based timeline people want. Believe me, Im as frustrated as everyone else. I just think Barr is doing the best he can.
Exactly what was said about him and Sessions. No one is buying that shit anymore.

People will excuse away anything in order to not get their hands "dirty".

It pisses me off that Democrats can be blatantly partisan in all aspects of government, but when we do it, it’s suddenly wrong
The swamp wasn't drained.
WHY CAN'T AGs JUST DO THEIR FUCKING JOBS? God dammit, it's frustrating as shit.
