Why would they want to create a monolithic "white" identity?? There literally never was a "white" identity. The Christian identity maybe?, but Christians of all races were admitted and accepted Christians . . . since Roman times.

Even Christians aren't a united identity because there are hundreds of different sects that have had conflicts for a long time.

I heard the Irish Catholics and Protestants had some disagreements over the years, too.
There have been very few truly religious wars.
Even the Thirty Years War was a proxy war between Catholic France and the Pope for influence over the HRE electorate
