I have noticed the same as well, back in the early days when the virus was spreading in huge numbers, Say April Yash for the Northeast United States, people were concerned but acting like normal human beings.
As the number of cases, hospitalizations and deaths has dramatically decline the more irrational and scared many people are getting, to the point where they’re simply afraid to see another person outside their house at the store. I have seen people stop probably 15 to 20 feet away from me at the grocery store if I pause to decide on which item I want because there’s that afraid of getting near another human being. Of course, they are likely wearing masks, gloves, and maybe even a face shield.
I can’t imagine these people living a normal life ever again. I firmly believe they will be living in an Abject state of fear and terror for years and years to come.
that or we categorically start to ridicule them in public. I've decided if I see people walking alone down the street with a mask on or driving alone I am rolling my window down and giving it to them. I suggest you all do the same. Laugh these people out of society.
Was talking to some buddies about this the other day. Im vaguely wondering if Germophobes might be in locked in Corona mode forever at this point. If someone already had OCD or something, the whole virus might be an affirmation in their minds. There might be people sanitizing and masking up every time they leave the house 60 years from now. Maybe forcing their kids to do the same as well. Crazy time to be alive.
I had a dumbass masked woman step off the sidewalk over the grass strip, the curb and into the roadway, in front of me, near dusk, risking death (I just saw her in time), when approached by an unmasked runner on the sidewalk. Air will kill her and not a ton and a half of steel. The stupidity burns.
