I am 100% one of the people who "did not vote in 2016 and is voting Trump 2020"

So yeah....I feel like there are a LOT of people in the same boat.

Can relate. Going from voting for Bernie in the 2016 primaries, Hillary in the 2016 general, to die-hard Trump supporter is an interesting experience.

22
electioninfection 22 points ago +24 / -2

As a lifelong conservative in a deep blue shithole, I didn't feel I could trust that Trump would do any of the conservative things he claimed he'd do. So I essentially abstained in 2016 because of that circumstance because no way in hell would I vote for a Clinton. But then before the end of Feb 2017 Trump had me won over and by the end of the first 100 days, I became one of those who would gladly crawl over broken glass shards to ink the bubble for him in 2020. My ballot just came in yesterday and I'll be diligently sitting down to study the guide and figure out my voting, but for sure President is a no brainer vote.

please do not vote by mail. it is way to risky to do it. in person is the only way to guarantee your vote gets counted properly!

1
electioninfection 1 point ago +1 / -0

WA has been forced vote by mail since 2011. I have no choice while registered and living in this state.

2

oh damn. sorry about that, i had no idea WA was mail only.

9

Don't vote by mail, go in person. I was able to vote in person early with the same exact voting process as election day.

1

I used to! It wasn't ever a problem. But my state (WA) has been forced vote by mail since 2011. I have no choice while registered and living in this state.

2
Redditiscucked2 2 points ago +2 / -0

Wtf dude, i'm from Eastern Europe and we ALWAYS vote in person, just the very sick or immobile elderly get a mobile voting urn with POLICE escort. 99.999% of us vote in person.

It boggles my mind that the US that's supposedly first world has shit like that.

48
PressF 48 points ago +48 / -0

Me too! But it's been nice to see one through my sister-in-law. She went from hating Trump and believing the MSM, to "no way I'm voting for either of them", to happily voting for Trump just a couple weeks ago. Her red-pill was finding out about Trump's animal cruelty laws, Biden being a child sniffing rapist, and that she knows Trump has been great for the economy.

Meanwhile my mother-in-law is sharing posts about how MAGA hats = Nazism the day after my husband wore one to her house for the first time (because he doesn't ever take it off 😆). So cruel.

A navy pilot leads a group my son is in. He told us how many people McCain killed acting stupid on an aircraft carrier with his plane. The story was deeply buried to protect his reputation because of family ties. This dude, the navy pilot, is quite mellow abd doesn't bs.... he was palpably angry when he shared the info with the whoe group when McCain died.

we all did, it just happened differently.

Mine was college probably. I knew the world was fucked before but i was meh, but in my mandatory BS class of business ethics, it was how the white man had a fast track to everything, blah blah blah...

10
DoYouLikeFishsticks 10 points ago +10 / -0

I had to take a class to graduate and it was called like self and others or some bullshit. The first day was about white privilege. I was pretty disgusted but already knew what my beliefs were. Talked to a normal girl next to me who I noticed was virtually silent in discussion and she felt the same way

11
trump1aj 11 points ago +11 / -0

To experience being red pilled you’d first have to be plugged in. Even since my youth I’ve always felt that something wasn’t quite right. As an adult I understand why.

Some people will wake up but a lot won’t. To use an anology, I often find that every day people are liked cursed villagers under a wicked spell by the local witch. People here call them NPCs but it’s worse than that. These people could be free thinking but they’ve been cursed (indoctrinated). I don’t envy that at all. There is no agency. Those that are freed from the curse are done so by others. I’m not black-pilled, but not everyone is going to be saved/woken up. I’m certain many of these rioters are otherwise good people under the witches curse. The evil that commands them does so at a distance. Given the choice I would never want to experience choking down the red pill.

8
DoYouLikeFishsticks 8 points ago +8 / -0

You have a lot of good points. These people I see on Facebook and Twitter and Instagram all day long are like programmed in a way that I can’t imagine. They don’t have a single individual thought. They’re brainwashed zombies and being connected to everything all day long I’m sure doesn’t help

9
electioninfection 9 points ago +9 / -0

My inlaws are like that. FIL never realizes the creeping nature of it all even after my husband tries to patiently explain it to him. Like Antifa. He seriously acted like he didn't know what they are back in June even though they've been pulling shit in Portland routinely a couple hours away since at least 2015. The best analogy I have is boiling frogs. My inlaws are completely boiled. The water kept getting hotter and hotter and they just never noticed and got sleepy instead.

3
DoYouLikeFishsticks 3 points ago +3 / -0

It’s not even worth fighting with them at this point. You can fight until they’re blue in the face but they’ll just keep denying it. It’s funny and entertaining at first but then after a while it’s just like okay you’re annoying can this please end

Yup, I didn't vote in 2016, but Kav was the moment I realized Democrats must be stopped at all costs. I never thought they would stoop as low as that, but here we are in 2020...

24

10
Czech2Check 10 points ago +10 / -0

10
electioninfection 10 points ago +10 / -0

Yeah, well, we lost our house during Obama/Biden. And it amazes me that it NEVER phases my husband's family members how shitty that was and why for sure Biden would be one of the last people ever that we'd want anywhere near managing an economy again. Say NO to Great Depression 3.0. We barely survived Great Depression 2.0 as a country and thank GOD for Donald Trump.

2
Czech2Check 2 points ago +2 / -0

Exactly. I was pretty young then so I wasn’t as aware of things as I am now, but from what I’ve heard the economy pretty much went straight to shit the literally day after 0bama won the election in 2008. I refuse to believe that real people want to go back to that.

I applied for citizen last year just so I can vote for Trump. Me and my family will be voting for Trump. I was around 2016 and thought Trump was really a flimsy lefty. Within month of his election, I could see he was far better and consitant than any republican who was or wanted to be President since Reagan. 3+ years since, he has done more than any republican would have done in a life time. We need Trump to win...I didn't escape a third world socialist hell hole to the greatest country ever to see that crap take over and go berzerko right here in the land of the free and brave

I lost 2 good friends hopefully temporarily, but converted at least 10 people to MAGA. Even made three full blown zealots like myself!

Hell, I myself was a moderate leaning leftist only ten years ago. People can change.

I have a Russian woman/friend, my age, who called her son "racist" in front of me and I went off on her. I said, "That is so wrong it's not even funny. You're son never said A, B, or C (I gave 3 examples of extremely RACIST things he could have said). He just said that people from Mexico should come here legally and work hard to become American citizens. And for THAT you called him a RACIST? That's not racist, that's just wanting people to follow the LAW. I really hammered her for a minute. She was kind-of shocked, and she realized that she took it too far with her son (he's only 16). She apologized to him on the spot. And the kid seemed pretty happy that I stood up for him. Since then, he has red-pilled her pretty good. She used to lean toward being a globalist. She's still not the biggest Trump fan, but Trump is growing on her big-time more and more. And the biggest thing she liked is when Kyle R. shot those 3 criminal scum-bag Communist rioters. She frickin' loved Kyle at that point, especially since Kyle is about her son's age. She says more positive things about Trump now, and she repeatedly mentions how her son was a lot more correct about politics than she realized.

6
electioninfection 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yes! They are trying desperately to get rid of the Election College. They're already trying to basically emasculate it with this attempt by almost exclusively blue states to pledge having their elector votes go with the national popular vote winner. I haven't heard much about that recently so maybe that failed somehow. I do think it'd be hilarious if Trump resoundingly has the popular vote and then watch CA and WA and OR and whoever else end up having to see their electors go to Trump despite their votes. BAHAHAHAHA!

36
buckiemohawk 36 points ago +36 / -0

7

Problem is they don't want to listen. Post on one of their Facebook where they were all in arms about the new Kkk group that Trump wouldn't disavow showing their black leadership and they said 'my platform, my space... Don't post on it.'... It's strange... It's like they KNOW they have blinders on, but feel more secure being led around by their social media news feed.

If it makes you feel better, I’m in the heart of the city. There’s a lot of hard left “believers,” a lot of limousine liberals and brain dead millennials, just like you’d expect. But, I figured there had to be Trump backers because, well, you can make a lot of money Intown, and save yourself the hassle of Atlanta traffic, plus some of the old neighborhoods are really pretty. Seems like some people who’d like Trump would be drawn to all that. I’ve connected with a surprising number of Trump voters, especially since the Rayshard riots. I had many friends who were really turned off by Mayor Keisha’s piss poor management of it compared to Kemp. And none of us could believe she was on the VP short list. What a joke. People are kind of quiet about their Trump support, cuz they don’t want to become a target. But it’s here. And I have seen a lot more Trump signs in Intown neighborhoods than I did in 2016. There’s almost no Biden signs and definitely no enthusiasm. And honestly, the most vocal Intown supporters of Trump I meet are black or gay, which is kind of interesting.

The race that’s killing me is Handel/McBath. My company has a location in Dunwoody, and I can’t get a handle on what the hell the republicans are doing in that race. To put it politely, Karen doesn’t have a lot of charisma. McBath is hard core pro impeachment radical. I see no sighs of opposition. It’s crazy. McBath is pretending to be moderate in her ads... pack of lies.

Alright, serious question here. I have a close friend who (I think) voted for Trump reluctantly in 2016. He's now spouting off all this bs from what I can only imagine is CNN or MSDNC talking but "he doesn't like either candiate and thinks he's going to vote 3rd party," aka just wasting his vote in protest. He says "these other movements have to start somewhere," and sounds like he's leaning towards the libertarian candidate. We live in Wisconsin, a key swing state. It seems as if he has no knowledge of what Trump has actually done in his 4 years as president and "thought he could have handled corona better," "shouldn't be lowering taxes for the rich and the corporations as much as he is," "doesn't like how he 'says mean things/carries himself'," etc... like I said, basically just whatever garbage the MSM feels like pushing.

What can I do to give him a crash course on what Trump has accomplished and why he's the greatest president in recent history, if not in the entire history of the US? Most of our friends are just in disbelief and don't want to engage with him about it, but I don't want to let any votes slip away, especially in a swing state. After all, if Wisconsin's 2016 3rd party votes had gone to Clinton, she would have won the state. Maybe I can swing this one voter, and maybe any advice I'm given can help other pedes in similar situations to swing more.

The best thing you can do is ask what his biggest concern about voting trump would be. Hit him with facts. If you get through it, ask him his next biggest concern etc. Dont be Trump. (Not a dig, I find people react better when they are not bombarded with a lot of different things.) Stay on topic.

If he doesnt listen, at least you tried.

It's odd but I wasn't redpilled until election night 2016. I was watching CNN live and witnessing their reaction exposed me to how ridiculous their bias was. It was a slow burn after that, and it's been a steady dose of red pills.

I hope the Dems are not getting extra voters this year!
