I wish I was posting this at a ladies night, not that the gentlemen don’t understand, but you know. There was a drone clearly hovering over my son’s daycare yesterday, so much so that they called the police. It hovered over the front, then the back. When the police showed up, the drone immediately flew away. Apparently it wasn’t the normal shit you pick up at Walmart. I pulled up as the police were leaving and when I heard what happened I put my kids back in the car and didn’t take them back all week. Why the fuck would a drone be hovering over a daycare?! Am I crazy?

This method is used to select kidnap victims for trafficking.

I suppose they might be taking some photos? Possibly dodgy, possibly not.

That sounds kind of sinister.

I would personally look in to destroying and / or tracking the thing if it comes back.

There has to be some counter-drone tech out there that would come in handy.

Keep us updated.

There is, it’s called a shotgun.

My parents own a ranch in CA and had a problem with a drone always flying over the property and watching them. 12g with goose load did the trick.

I like their method. Works every time.

Seems odd a drone would be hanging out at a daycare. These things are becoming a nuisance and can also facilitate bad actors doing evil things. Not to be paranoid, but monitor the situation.

No not really. Let's take a small walk into the future where instead of a drone ots a robot dog running out to the gas station for your neighbors morning news paper and it glitches out in front of your child.

Its probably someone in the neighborhood bored witha new toy. Daycare centers have a lot of activity around them during the day. I'll assume your in a rural suburban area with a fair number of people who work ina neighboring town that's largly hit by covid resulting in a lot of people bored I n.v the middle of the day

Drones are loud just make sure the staff is all aware of what they sound like and what to do. I would treat it like a straffing and seek cover

That does sound pretty sketchy - and I'd do the same thing, too.

I once had a drone follow me on a walk. I kept giving it the middle finger and went to go pick up a rock, it zoomed away and then a couple of dudes came by to tell me they were shooting video of the apartment complex for corporate website.

Ya nothing weird about an expensive sounding drone just filming toddlers at a daycare for hours. Completely normal thing
