I am an independent. Mine was the BLM riots, anti-white hate campaign, and discovery of Critical Race Theory. It happened pretty much all at once for me.

Mine was the “Mexicans are rapist”. I remember telling myself Trump must really be stupid for saying that. And then I read the transcripts. Watched the video. And Nope. That’s not what he said. But the media kept saying that he said it. I was like... dafuq?!! They’re lying. So I started looking at everything... it was a rabbit hole. These m’fckers have been lying and are lying about a lot of things!!!

ClownTamer 415 points ago +415 / -0

Same! I’d have ignored it most likely if they didn’t go that far. It was so over the top that it didn’t make any sense. No one in their right mind running for president would call Mexicans rapists. Or any of the things they said he did. Then you go down the rabbit hole, find T_D, and you start liking Trump in direct proportion to how much they smear them. Were you around when WikiLeaks dropped? It was like an atom bomb.

I don’t agree with Trump on plenty of things, though nothing I’d consider my highest priorities. Still, how the fuck can you vote for people that are actively lying in public and then gaslighting you about it? All the MSM tactics are crazy bitch borderline personality disorder tactics. The left became the party of crazy ex GFs.

After looking into all that, I found the image they painted of Trump before all this was also full of it. Like him being some failed business man or something. There may very well be nobody alive that went into so many different businesses and did as well as Trump in most of them. Then you see him take on the MSM and DNC, at times off the cuff, and dominating. He’s an actual genius, which is a rare thing, he just puts on an act to maneuver his opponents. The meme making fun of him and Regeneron missed the point. Trump knows he’s like that, and the best part about it is that it seemingly always works.

I’ve always been independent, and still am. Trump’s just the best man for the job right now. If anything I wish he’d have a 3rd term, though we’ll all find out together how he’ll be at the end of his second. Probably Don Jr for 2024 so Trump can still be on the team, and because I trust them more than any of the bullshit democrats or republicans that did nothing for decades.

Same for me, too. I didn't vote for Trump in 2016 because I am in a blue state, and figured my vote didn't matter. I had already noticed how the media was lying. Fake news is what did it. I would watch a rally, and then flip to CNN, and watch them straight-up lie! I kept digging and the rest is history. Been shit posting daily ever since. Donated to his campaign. This time, my whole family is voting Trump, even if it only counts towards the popular vote. After all the crap he's gone through for us, it's the least we can do. Nothing is going to stop us.

Keep workin on them Cali. All Votes Matter.

I'm gonna try that. I have friends up to their lips in leftist bullshit and I'm trying to figure out what will make them smarten the fuck up. It's no coincidence that I'm the only one of my peers that didn't attend university and have notoriously low presence on social media while not being a mindless, socialist, self-flagulating hetero white. I was quite left, but basically apolitical before 2018. When I finally woke up I was alarmed at just how authoritarian my "liberal" peers had become.

Come to vancity and I'll tell you about it 😋

If you can’t red pill them, blackpill them and demotivate them from caring about this election. Use arguments from their leftist language. Easier for me to say since.. I was a leftist.

I also live in a deep blue state but I voted as a f-you to the democrats and also because like you in 2016 “my vote won’t matter, we never win here” There could be thousands of people like this. So, the more they see the numbers go up for Republicans, they may stop feeling hopeless and vote as well and it could add up in the future.

105

136
FRONK 136 points ago +136 / -0

Yep. Just want to chip in and say it was the "Trump calls Mexicans rapists" that got me too. I don't think I even watched the first Republican primary debate, I was so disillusioned with politics in general and I actually was indifferent about Trump at the time but just thought he was doing it for attention/business purposes. Then the Mexicans are rapists line came up and I learned it was totally false. Weird.

Then I watched the second or third primary debate where he called out Bush for his failure with the Iraq war, and the crowd booed him, and he called out the crowd for being paid donors to their faces. I was like holy shit. This guy may be for real. At that point I started snooping around YouTube for more videos of his speeches. This must have been in late 2015. And I could just tell from him speaking, and his ability to engage with the crowds he was speaking to. Back then it was maybe a gym full of people, but the crowd sizes quickly grew even in 2015, and the crowds would engage with him just as much he with the crowds, and you could just tell just how comfortable he was. I remember texting my brother back in 2015 (who has since moved to California and only become more entrenched in leftism... it's sad, frankly) that Trump would not only win the presidency, but be one of the greatest we've ever had. He laughed.

Right around then I found The_Donald (rip) and the Can't Stump the Trump series, which was maybe 6 episodes in, and have been on the Trump train ever since. The Wikileaks and Podesta leaks are when I realized this wasn't politics as usual but war, under the veil of political theater. It really changed my life, having actually read the Wikileaks when they dropped, grasping just how fucked everything really may be, and having to continue living among normies.

14

Same here. They are responsible for Republicans almost losing Texas, as Bush family ran Texas into the ground with illegal immigration. I firmly believe they were in cahoots with Bin Laden and knew about it or their team knew about it and didnt stop it. Why did we even invade Iraq? Total shitshow they used their high approval rating to start a war that never should have happened. I think they will both end up in hell, unless they come out and repent.

29
Bbme19 29 points ago +29 / -0

I don't think I ever bought that these people were doing evil deeds at the shop (though there were a lot of interesting things about the surrounding buildings and tunnels that were compelling) , but it was 100% clear that the people Alafantis associated with, including his employees, were truly sick people. The "artwork" on the wall of Comet Ping Pong, the video of a drag queen and guests at birthday party shouting about liking little boys, the pictures on instagram coupled with the comments (this one is a rabbit hole of sick stuff from perhaps hundreds of accounts) and the GQ magazine which stated that Mr. "I love infants" was a HUGE influencer years prior to this coming out. Then you take a few more turns and connect it with the emails, Tony Podesta's supposed "artwork" collection, red shoes, Amber Alert woman . . . It was really something else. If we want to go even farther we could discuss Marina Abramovich, Oprah Winfrey, Lady Gaga and the gala. Pizzagate goes deep.

Moloch/eating babies thing probably turned a lot of people away from everything above. Some interesting things learned about the island, though.

9
Mynamesprivate 9 points ago +9 / -0

Iirc there was an assistant attorney general who liked one of those instagram pictures, with the kids. Then the fake news mantra started, along with the joke night show guy telling people 5heres no pizzagate and to grow up. Almost as obvious as saying tom hanks got greek citizenship because "its totally not because of pedophilia."

Theres also goat hill pizza, which is owned by pelosi. It didnt gain much traction, btw. And the guy in charge of chaz? His studio was next to another small pizza joint.

I never voted Republican until Trump. In fact I never voted. I was all about the Bern in 2016 and even phone banked for him. When he just sat there and let Hillary steamroll him with the DNC apparatus I got pissed. That cunt was gonna shove the TPP down our throat. I saw first hand what NAFTA did to many close friends and family. The fact that she was so flippant about it, and that Trump was like I agree with Bernie about it is what made look at him more closely. Many years later I'm a full on pede. Trump is the only one who cares about how the USA does as a whole. It makes sense also. He's in the business of real estate and most of his real estate is in the USA. So if the USA does well, we all do well, and so does Trump.

How the fuck is this a bad thing?!?

Let me thank all of you consistent pedes for making me feel sane even though things get crazy here. This is the only place that makes me crack up also. I'm also a non white male if that matters at this point. The world has gone full clown, and this place is the only place of sanity amidst the craziness of the leftist corrupted and controlled social media landscape.

I saw the same in him. My biggest 'ohhhhhhhhh I see where he is coming from now', moment was when he was on the campaign trail and was saying that he wanted to normalize relations with Russia and in the next sentence was going after Mexico.

That seemed odd to me so I did some digging and found that Russia, who has a shit ton of natural resources, would be a a non-issue if the US brought them into our economic sphere. Using those resources, which would be massively cheap due to Russia being economically isolated for so long, would allow the US to pump up production and compete with China. All the while, Russia would move away from being antagonistic with the US and more of a partner.

I mentioned Mexico above because Mexico is seen as a competitor in a number of labor markets, which have been dealt with via the USMCA.

Edit: I should also mention that what cemented my belief in Trump was when he made the Mexica/rapist comment and a buddy of mine who was in the Army, (I was medically retired out but got a job as a contractor and still worked in the same building), told me about how crazy the border with Mexico was.

The buddy of mine is Hispanic and also helped volunteer with the border patrol before going into the Army. He was gave me a pretty good idea of how bad things were for women and children coming across with all the human trafficking and that Trump wasn't wrong.

I did some digging and found that Russia, who has a shit ton of natural resources, would be a a non-issue if the US brought them into our economic sphere.

Unfortunately, Russia doesn't want this. And I don't mean "Putin", I mean basically the entire population of Russia. They want to MRGA and be a dominant world power.

My "red suppository" moment on that was talking to a law school classmate from Russia. One moment we were having a conversation about what Russia is like, and the next she was foaming at the mouth, literally spraying spittle around, screaming about how the U.S. "tried to turn us into a resource extraction colony" during the 1990s and blah blah blah.

She was a toddler back then -- I was in my 20s and old enough to remember what was actually going on, like American companies trying to set up offices there and the Russians stealing all the equipment and dumping it on the black market until our multinationals finally gave up and left. Or American companies cutting mutually beneficial trade deals and the Russians delivering shipping containers full of garbage. Or the old Russians who were marching through the streets demanding a return to Stalinism. Or all the scams and fraud on a retail level that they tried. It was an epic disastrous mess, but the ENTIRE problem was that Russians didn't understand the concept of fulfilling their side of a deal.

They went through 30 years of hell, and at this point they could probably turn into a viable country, but no, they would rather invade their old "comrade socialist republics" to set up frozen conflicts by which they can slowly exert dominance.

Maybe some day China will fuck around with them and nuclearly find out, and maybe after that we can pick up the pieces and help them. Probably not, though.

the rape of Russia's infrastructure that happened in the early 90s. American specialists facilitated the transfer of huge amounts of assets to oligarchs

Oh, sure, yeah, that was all us, definitely not the Russians being Russian, or the old KGB crowd looting their peasants blind. Funny how our elites didn't just take it all for themselves instead, though -- such altruism on their part.

Thanks, you explained it better than I could.

The US was founded on what some denigrate as the "Protestant work ethic". People treated each other fairly by default, and the government was set up to punish those that committed crimes against another. A "handshake" deal was as good as a written contract, and anyone who wasn't trustworthy was shunned by others.

The Soviet Union never had that. After generations of what was effectively feudalism, the elite had become adept at manipulating the system for their benefit, and the non-elite had become adept at stealing from the system whenever they could.

It was folly to expect them to suddenly embrace capitalism, which requires a significant level of trust among parties to function effectively.

1
Lenny_Kravitz2 1 point ago +1 / -0

I never said it would work but I understood where Trump was going with that idea. I have a lot of respect for Trump for recognizing that it wasn't going to work later down the road and shifting gears.

The whole point I was trying to make was that I was impressed that Trump saw a way that could boost the US economy and make a rival into a partner and after that didn't pan out, was more impressed that he changed how he was going to do things and still continued forward, instead of dropping it.

9
CeruleanShadow 9 points ago +10 / -1

To be honest, Russia doesn't want to be a "partner" of the US anymore. Those days are long gone. The reason being she is so "antagonistic" is because of the huge levels of fuckery the US has implemented with regard to core Russian interests (Crimea being one, and seeing as the President had a silent coup staged against him, the US did exactly that with Boris Yeltsin, except it wasn't so silent in the 90s), as a second example.

Lastly, and perhaps most important of all, is the rape of Russia's infrastructure that happened in the early 90s. American specialists facilitated the transfer of huge amounts of assets to oligarchs via the "share vouchers" programme, a programme that caused desperate levels of poverty in Russia, and a deep, deep hatred towards the oligarchs, and those people (elites) in the States. That in itself, nearly resulted in the collapse of the Russian Federation.

And then I was like 🤩😍😍

Mine was NPR saying "all Mexicans are rapists". I knew they had moved their HQ to the outskirts of Hollywood and forced out their male hosts, but I still thought they were at least trying to be reporters.

I filed a bunch of story correction reports for weeks every time they said this, with video links and transcripts - never a correction. They didn't even have the self-respect to falsely claim that and then correct it later when nobody is paying attention.

The NPR I knew used to report from a solidly left perspective, but now they're just a disgrace to journalism.

15
Rockonanon 15 points ago +15 / -0

It feels like so many formerly solid left and center-left news outlets have all abandoned journalism in the pursuit of bringing down Trump. I mean I always knew they had their biases but I thought they were at least trying to report the truth. Now they are just garbage that I wouldn't waste one second of my time on.

The first thing Biden would do is get rid of the wall. Then he would raise our taxes so that he could fund buses and planes carrying the next of several caravans of illegal immigrants into the U.S. Democrats would then get rid of the citizenship requirement to vote.

We need to start harassing any complicit members of the media.

2
FUCK_DemonRATS 2 points ago +2 / -0

What we need is to set journalistic standards to what they once were and hold journalist accountable for fake news. We need to start imposing fines and lawsuits every time a story is put out that pushes fake/misleading news. Another great way of combating fake news would be to come up with a "strike system" were each time a journalist or news article author puts out fake/misleading news, he would receive a strike. Then we can make it mandatory to show how many strikes a particular journalist has at the top of every article he publishes. This way people can see for themselves if a so called "journalist" is full of shit or telling the truth

1
Choomguy 1 point ago +1 / -0

Totally agree, but good luck with that. Hearst monopolized the media in th US expressly for the purpose of propaganda. It was really a brilliant move, if you control the news, you control everything. Which is where we are at.

The #1 enemy we face is the msm, because they allow everything else to go on. We would be better off if there was no media.

54
DaoDeDickinson 54 points ago +54 / -0

I quit the debate team after 4 years in high school and 2 in college, I got recruited by college teams, had a full ride. At a tournament at UC Berkeley, this team of two black guys from Towson spent the entire debate spewing hate speech about why my partner and I should lose because whiteness and when the timer went off at the end of the speech they kept talking saying it was reparations.

My partner was Chinese, a refugee from Hong Kong to the US as a young girl. Didn't matter, didn't care. The judge we had was a white lady and told them to shut up when they kept going and told them it was disrespectful. Looking back, I'm sure everybody from Towson spread hate speech about her and did everything they could to ruin her life for that and turn debate as poisonous as academic politics, but that day I just broke down crying in the hallway from the assault of unrelenting hatred. I knew my coach had a Ph.D. in CRT and would spew the racist crap about how it was impossible to be racist against "white people" regularly so nobody had my back.

So I quit debate, even though that's where I had just about all the friends I had made in the last 6 years.

The next year, 2008, Towson won the national championship with this racist hate rage.

Here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qfh9ss1cd2U

Out of the last 16 debaters to win CEDA national championships, 14 have been black.

And now this is corporate policy nationwide and de facto law under many DA jurisdictions.

28
Rockonanon 28 points ago +28 / -0

I have seen this. There is a YouTuber who went viral awhile back with some undercover footage he took of his debate teacher in class, can't think of his name. I watched a few of his videos, some of which detailed how these black debaters would come to a competition, take it over, and turn the whole thing into a debate about race. I saw the video of them doing this. Really one of the most enraging things I have ever seen. I never even thought about how much their actions were hurting people like you, who had invested so much in debate. It's just so wrong that they can get away with this shit.

It's happening in other disciplines as well. I have a friend who is a psychologist interested in using psychedelics in therapy. He was recently at a conference on the topic and a black woman basically took over one of the sessions and turned it into an anti-white hate rally.

27
DaoDeDickinson 27 points ago +27 / -0

No discipline is safe. I tried grad school and it was a complete joke. The year after I quit, some black woman student got all visiting lecturers who were white or asian males canceled.

Then I tried to get a BS in Computer Science at the last Uni I could still afford after being scammed by the last two and professors told us in class that to meet racial and gender quotas they were handing out degrees to people that they knew were completely incompetent. One professor showed us an email from a graduate about how job interviewers told him they considered a degree from this uni worse than nothing because it was such a bad signal. There was an exam that was supposed to be the exam that weeded out students incapable of the material. I forget if we were given 2 or 3 hours for it. I finished it in 10 minutes and after 5 minutes of double checking I knew I'd aced it. They had told us that we would have to stay for the entire few hours, but after 25 minutes someone walked up and asked to leave and was allowed out so I did the same and left.

There were two women one day in class talking just openly talking about cheating so loud and carefree. You could tell one of them was really into cheating because she had her dog in the computer lab as a mental health comfort animal. One time I was studying intently for an exam and a stranger in the class just came up and offered a copy of the exam from previous years, knowing it was going to be the same exam and I told them to fuck off. I felt like a coward for not just raging out with the truth... In the school paper, someone in the Business School had an op ed about how cheating was rampant in that department too... I doubt it did any good.

The final straw was when, during an exam, a professor was walking around the room and looked at the papers of the best woman student in the class. This professor had already been under investigation for gender bias, honestly, he said some fucked up shit, couldn't shut up about how Howard Stern was his personal hero, how Private Parts was his favorite movie, how the best way to make money off of computer science was hosting porn sites, and how all this material he was "trying" to "teach" us was so fucking boring and we all supposedly knew that.

There was a big art installation on the side of a building I had to walk by pretty often, it was a flame and a quote about sharing the flame / passion of learning and oh how I wish I could have found that instead.

So this prof sees that this young lady is completely bombing the test. Only 3 out of 80 or so students in this comp sci class are men because this is an affordable school and women that show they can learn computer science (or even plenty that maybe don't) easily get upconverted by full-ride scholarships to Stanford or Washington or wherever.

Which of course just means the "patriarchy" was that much more oppressive at this somewhat affordable public uni. So this professor, who was under threat of losing his job from both gender grade quotas and sexist speech reports, starts blurting out the correct answers to the exam and begging her to write down the correct answers, but she replies that she was only ever checking out computer science as a taste-test and has now decided she definitely wants to be a math major and refuses to cheat. He keeps trying to no avail. That was the last straw for me, because I am slow to anger.

At the grad school I attended for a semester, which was for a STEM major, and the #1 ranked grad school for my major in that US News and World Report anal gland excretion, they took over $30K for that one semester, forced me to take some stupid class where the prof was a literal Marxist homilist (he would open every class with a reading from the original Marx - no Zizek, no Foucault, no Marcuse, no Gramsci, no Lenin even - NO - it was always Marx). We had to write essays about scifi movies. I mean, I love to write essays, so I tried to make the best of it. I wrote one of the best two essays of my life, and turned it in electronically. Then the lazy fuck literally told us he went through his emails and as long as he got an email from us with a word document attachment, he gave us all full credit because he was never gonna read any of them. Maybe I should have murdered him on the spot for that. My academic advisor had no advice for me when I was worried about how to get a job, or how to best plan for success. I went to a psychological counselor at that uni and she was the second person I ever tried to talk to about being raped and she had like no response or advice or help or anything...

The first person I told was my debate partner who was a refugee from Hong Kong. She didn't talk to much about Hong Kong but the thing she mentioned the most was how (and she left when she was 6) every kid in the schools cheated and the schools were hoaxes basically. And now ours here are, too.

I cheated in school exactly once. 3rd grade. I got caught. My parents acted like it was the violation that it was. I was banned from video games for a month which was agonizing back then lol. And ever since I viewed cheating as not only cheating myself but cheating society, the world, truth itself.

Wow, it seems you've had no shortage of bad experiences at university! I went to grad school for philosophy for a couple of years. Growing up I always wanted to be a professor. Ended up just not being the right fit for me. Then in 2001 I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and after that never really got back in the game. I did go back to school for a while thinking I might teach high school English but I had too many problems with my mood being unstable--didn't really get that figured out for a number of years. Anyway I had worked some as a carpenter's apprentice in high school, so after I left grad school I got a job working construction, and I've now been a carpenter for close to 20 years! I like my job, and I'm very glad I didn't stay in the world of academics. With the way it has become now, there is no way I would be able to deal with all the political correctness and white fragility bullshit.

What career path did you end up choosing, or have you yet?

I was trained to do the fast-as-possible speaking, it was about trying to present as much evidence as possible in the allowed time.

The 2013 CEDA national champions just played rap songs instead of speaking themselves for part of the final debate. People probably slowed down as they realized presentation of meticulously researched evidence was no longer rewarded.

Every part I landed on they were talking about “blackness”, “anuses” (not like a one-off, the anus is a big part of their argument), and interrupting each other to the point where you couldn’t even follow the nonsense logically to show that it was nonsense. Socialists revealed what was actually in their hearts - concern for others was just the disguise they donned to obscure their envy, lack of ability, and lust for absolute unquestionable power over the lives of others; if no one could ever be allowed to think or act differently than them, then they never have to confront evidence of how poorly they've chosen to live their lives.

I used to think socialism failed because of poor adoption, but we all know the truth now. Socialism fails because of socialists.

The Swamp knew how positive a Ron Paul presidency would have been for Americans, and even the world (e.g. anti-interventionist, end the fed, etc). So they pulled the plug on his efforts before he had a chance. With Trump, they didn't fully know what to expect at first, and he was too popular to derail. Remember it wasn't until like late 2015 when all the media suddenly turned against Trump, calling him a racist and so on about the southern border and the travel ban for Islamic extremist countries. Before that, Trump even hosted SNL! It's amazing how the mainstream pivoted so hard after that.

It wasn't so much that as that the Clinton campaign explicity asked the media to highlight the "weakest" Republican candidates in order to derail Jeb!'s campaign. Don't you remember the Wikileaks DNC email about the "pied piper strategy" featuring Carson, Cruz, and Trump? A jungle bunny, a religious wacko, and a cartoon character. No problem killing them off later to assume the throne.

Clinton figured she'd knock off Jeb! and then have some other, weak, terrible candidate to deal with. Oops.

Trump calling out China was what solidified my support for him. I've been trying to raise red flag, so to speak, on the CCP for almost a decade now, and apparently I'm not as persuasive as Trump because I couldn't get anyone to listen to me.

I have said all along that we owe a debt of gratitude to Obama for paving the way for Trump. Usually when I pull that one out I am making a positive statement about Obama to a lefty.

62
ClownTamer 62 points ago +62 / -0

Obama, Romney, Bush, Bush Jr, Clinton. We all learned the hard way that they were all bought-out candidates that were part of the same machine. Romney wouldn’t have put us into race wars, but he’d likely have done something else. Maybe rile-up religious extremists and have people going around torching folks for showing their ankles over being white. I’m sure they’d have pulled the same shit, just with the Romney theme to it.

22
OutcastSeal [S] 22 points ago +22 / -0

That's a good point. Looking back, I remember feeling a bit guilty bubbling his name in but I also remember how miserable Obama made my family after that first term.

I think he would have promoted the same wars in Libya and Syria that John McCain and Hillary Clinton and Sidney Blumenthal, among many others, wanted.

this. romney is globalist scum, barely distinguishable from a biden, a clinton, or an obama for that matter.

we could have expected much more of the same. more kissing china's asshoe. more jobs exported via trade agreements. more h1bs. and a whole lot of empty promises that mysteriously can't be fulfilled because oh! we suddenly have a crisis in some little backwater country somewhere.

2

Obama is young enough that they would have run him again after Romney. So you would have had Romney for probably only one term then Obama for 2. Trump would have been too old to run in that scenario, and America would have been lost.

I held my nose to vote for Reek. First time I was old enough to vote. Horrible experience.

So glad Reek lost though, because without four more years of Big Mike's cockholster, we would never have gotten Daddy for GEOTUS.

Obama was the wrong choice compared to a lot of people, but Romney would have been the same. Media made both obama and Romney.

Romney was the most egregious. Ron paul was throwing gigantic rallies with 10,000 people, out fundraised everyone for else in months leading up to primary, and won some early primaries including iowa, all while being either completely ignored by the media, or smeared as a racist.

Media has been picking candidates for quite some time. They tried to pick Trump so Hilary could win, instead of Rand Paul, but their plan backfired. To

Independent here. Kavanaugh did it for me. Watching that was the first time I really saw just how dirty the tricks were. I didn’t even actively seek it, I just heard it all playing in the background and something seemed off. Started to do my own digging to look at the facts and that’s when I really noticed just how much how the left and the media used gaslighting and censorship to influence the public. Voted libertarian last election (I regret that now, the party hardly seems libertarian as I know it). Voting mostly red this time. Not to big of a fan of my governor so might go 3rd party on that one if it’s an option. Honestly I’d still be ok with a sea of red this cycle.

61
Formerlurker92 61 points ago +61 / -0

Libertarianism has it's high points but the libertarian party is more broken than the gop. And I think that's one of their biggest barriers to entry, not the two party system

31
Johnson 31 points ago +32 / -1

I'm not sure I support libertarian ideals anymore. They seem like fair-weather ideas from a functioning authoritarian / capitalist system. I think you need force to maintain some essential principles, especially with the changing economy today.

27
Formerlurker92 27 points ago +28 / -1

I'm no libertarian either, but I've read some of their stuff. Basats 'the law' is a great little pamphlet that I think has some valuable thought exercises. But without a closed, homogeneous, and connected country it's just an invitation for barbarians and opportunists

14
Salty_Samurai 14 points ago +14 / -0

I have Bastiat's "The Law", still need to finish reading it though. Libertarianism itself is not bad. The ideas and values are really great. I just don't think the party, or for that matter the people that identify as libertarian these days, are actually all that libertarian. It's kinda like the republicans. They don't seem to fight very hard for the republic. At least the democrats stick to their core by trying to foster mob rule. I drifted from the LP when i realized they were more like a half assed crazy mix of anarchists and leftists. Libertarian isn't "no government" it's just minimal necessary government.

5
lerm4comptroller 5 points ago +5 / -0

Also, they forgot the core responsibility of that minimal government: the protection of property. That laser focus really was the main difference from the libertarians to the average classical liberal that made up the vast majority of this country since our founding.

No one who believes in property and government's rightful obligation to protect it also believes in open borders. It just doesn't work that way. (Not that I agreed with their immigration ideas before, but that shit is just retarded.)

3
Tyrone_biggums 3 points ago +3 / -0

No one who believes in property and government's rightful obligation to protect it also believes in open borders.

It’s perfectly consistent to support unconditional property rights and not support state borders. In such a system, a property owner is the absolute dictator on his own property, and can defend the borders of his property, but borders between states are not like that, and are essentially imaginary lines drawn by some ruler. In other words the borders between states are not like the borders around one’s own property.

I’m not advocating this position, but it’s at least philosophically consistent.

2
lerm4comptroller 2 points ago +2 / -0

Okay, so where exactly would those immigrants go?

Remember, we're talking completely impoverished people. All the land is private, and you can't exactly just build your own cottage on federal land, so... What's the plan? Just hope they can afford an apartment once they find a job? What about before? Just let them hang out on public property, violating the public's right to the commons?

It's philosophically consistent so long as you don't think about it too long, I guess.

This was actually addressed by the original libertarian position: open immigration with severe restraints based around sponsorship or property. Basically open borders for many, but very shut borders for most who clearly can't afford to be anything but a public charge at best or a squatter at worst.

1
ripley88 1 point ago +1 / -0

Small enough to drown in a bathtub!

1
PinochetIsMyHero 1 point ago +3 / -2

Exactly this. The LP just isn't willing to acknowledge that most of their policies are national suicide unless the entire world is at the same level of prosperity and is equally libertarian already. Isolationism? No more wasteful military? Sure, if you want China to take over all of Asia and Africa and then crush us. Open borders? Sure, all that cheap labor definitely won't go around raping and killing college girls out for a jog, and they just have better food anyway.

6
trollkin0331 6 points ago +7 / -1

Libertarianism is viable only if everyone is trustworthy. Which will never be the case. Libertarianism is to right-wing idealism as socialism is to left-wing idealism.

5
swimminginthoughts 5 points ago +5 / -0

I don't know. I don't want laws that protect me from myself, like seat belt and helmet laws. I think any drug that you can pick from the ground and not manufacture should be legal. I don't care if you're gay, just don't force it on me. I think those are libertarian ideas.

1
trollkin0331 1 point ago +1 / -0

Good, moral and justifiable government picks from both left- and right-wing principles. That fact has just been lost in the 100 year effort at confusing the political discourse to obscure the goings-on. Any ideology which rejects ideas from 'the left' because they're from the left is absurd, just as the "modern left"'s current policy of rejecting ideas from anyone not voting for Biden is absurd.

Ex. I don't want anyone being able to dump toxic chemicals into the local river which also serves as the water source for the local community. This is a left-wing principle, like it or not.

There's not a whole lot (in number) of left-wing principles which I personally believe should be implemented into policy, but they exist. Being against abortion is a left-wing policy. A strict right-winger would be 100% for 'muh choice'.

Most people have a wildly incorrect idea of what 'left' and 'right' mean, conflate them with 'liberal' and 'conservative', and furthermore conflate them with 'Republican' and 'Democrat'. So I fully expect that out of the 4 people who might read this, at least 2 will misunderstand.

8
refresco 8 points ago +8 / -0

Im a small "l" libertarian in my beliefs for the most part. I think it's definitely a good point to start building laws and policies from, but in today's society to expect everything to work under strict libertarian ideology is laughable.

6
yourhexagon 6 points ago +7 / -1

The Libertarian party is for Open Borders and they are Pro Abortion, that is why I am not one.

swimminginthoughts 3 points ago +3 / -0

1
Salty_Samurai 1 point ago +1 / -0

Many libertarians argue that abortion violates the NAP (non aggression principal) and is therefore not a libertarian value. The party itself is not very libertarian.

2
some_random_dude 2 points ago +2 / -0

If you don't want to vote (R) or (D) because you think they are primarily evil swamp rats, but feel not voting is unethical... it doesn't leave a lot of choices. While (L) has its issues in today's day, it beats (G) over most IMHO.

We need a new party. Maybe Geotus could form his own party of swamp drainers to follow his lead for the next 200 years or so...?

Andrew Breitbart used to be a lefty, he wanted to work in Hollywood, he helped engineer The Huffington Post, and the first thing that started to change him was paying attention to how Clarence Thomas was treated at confirmation hearings.

It's all in his autobiography, Righteous Indignation, which also tells in detail the origins of James O'Keefe / Project Veritas.

Here's his self-read audiobook verson:

Okay, I'm re-watching it and Breitbart's saying Daily Kos guy apparently doxxed underaged girls?!

Circa 2006, when I was a lefty, Daily Kos was in my daily+ rotation, smh.

"Why was there no accountability?"

sad... a relic of more hopeful times... I hope that's just my own pessimism talking 🙄

Wish he knew how everyone needs to repeat the question they're answering first before answering it like on Twitch today, but it just goes to show how impromptu this was, and I'm so grateful.

Lol at this tool from the audience claiming that a sitting Congressman being hacked isn't something that investigators should try to get to the truth about and report...

"The Acorn study is interesting because everyone says 'selectively edited' 'selectively edited' 'selectively edit'" and they never found anything better than that to respond to Project Veritas lol

"They didn't come to me because I had a satellite van out front, I had a basement in Los Angeles."

All in all, CBS accidentally committed journalism that day.

I'm a registered Libertarian as well. I actually switched from Johnson to a Trump vote last minute but I still wasn't completely sold. Like you, the Kavanaugh witch trials did it for me on top of the transparently garbage Russia Collusion narrative. I wasn't even very political before that.

Now I watch every important hearing I can on CSPAN and spend my time countering propaganda by sharing raw original sources. If people are willing to open their eyes the fake news narratives are easy to debunk.

drug_prowling_wolf 12 points ago +12 / -0

Exactly. I paid off my mortgage a few years ago. But I still pay rent to the government landlord. Next year, my property tax will be equal to what I paid monthly for my mortgage. Do you know what I could do for my family and my community if I could keep that money? A hell of a lot more than the state government will ever do.

2
FragrantDude 2 points ago +4 / -2

You're not paying "rent" on your land, you're paying for the active services the state is ostensibly providing (defense, infrastructure, etc.). You can argue that they aren't doing what they're supposed to, and you can take that up with your local government, but the original idea behind property taxes isn't just some usury so they can skip away with your money.

1
sun_wolf 1 point ago +1 / -0

Sales taxes could pay for that.

1
FragrantDude 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's a tax that would be levied on people who may or may not use those services. Land tax guarantees the people being charged are using those local services.

Look, I'm a minimal tax sort of person (was registered Libertarian until recently), but I also recognize that some taxes are necessary to keep a free people, and I'd like those taxes to be rationally and objectively applied if they have to be at all.

Taking home 2000 a month and barely making it? How does an extra $320 sound? Would it help tackle that credit card debt that’s slowly been building?

I saw some socialists complaining recently how evil it is that capitalism requires people to work "just to survive" 😒

Like... They have no idea that SOMEONE has to be working for them to survive. Food and electricity and plumbing don't just exist someone has to creat and maintain all of that. If you get dropped off in the woods you have no choice but to work or die!

5
PegasoSeiya 5 points ago +5 / -0

Reminds me of people that pray to god to rescue them From an island but dismiss everyone boat and helicopter that comes their way Waiting for god to do it himself. Except they pray to the government and don’t realize that before capitalism they would need to work from sunrise to sunset every day of their lives doing manual labor it survive on nothing, and now they can put in 40 Hours a week anywhere doing barely anything and live like kings once did hundreds of years ago. Want food? Capitalism let’s me have a guy bring me food from anywhere near me directly to my door within an hour for a nominal fee. Capitalism is amazing but they waive it off thinking the government will Save them from work

Amén brother. “Trump Paid $750 in taxes”. Yeah maybe as personal income tax, after paying hundreds of millions on payroll tax(16% of all payroll), sales tax(7% in my state), state income tax(5% of profits in my state for large corporations) state unemployment tax (a percentage of payroll, about 1 percent) federal Unemployment tax( half a percentage of payroll? Not sure) certificate of use for each property(hundreds for me, hundreds of thousands for GEOTUS). Fire inspection fees, tangible property tax for the county, license fees, then property taxes, county taxes, then you have vehicle registrations and fees and special taxes on certain goods like gasoline that you don’t even see youre paying and whatever other BS the government comes up with every year. That’s BEFORE income tax even comes into questions and that’s just what my business pays. I’m sure his businesses are infinitely more complex and pay infinitely more taxes. I have a small business and I get absolutely raped by taxes. And then I pay for suppliers and service providers who COULD bill Me HALF of what They charge, if they didn’t have to pay taxes, and their suppliers didn’t need to pay taxes. If they lowered taxes by half across the board , I’m sure everything wouldn’t cost half as much.

Maybe you already know this part, but we're sharing stuff for everybody in this this thread.

Hillary ran ads against Obama in the 2008 primaries about who Americans should want answering a 3 AM phone call. When our embassy was finally attacked after weeks if not months of the people stationed there seeing it coming, Obama was off doing who knows what. Pretty sure Hillary had to fill in for him and take the 3 AM phone call and send stand down orders while Obama voted "not present" yet again.

5
BingBongChina 5 points ago +8 / -3

You’re actually retarded for saying this like it’s fact and double fuck you for making me defend buttfucking Obama... Hillary had a hard on for putting our feet on the ground in Benghazi. She owns the entire debacle from why we were there to who should be responsive in an emergency. 100% her failure.

You blaming Obama is like how every stupid cunt blames Trump for anything wrong. There are actual responsible parties.

4
DaoDeDickinson 4 points ago +4 / -0

You're totally misinterpreting me but I will assume you aren't retarded.

I know Hillary had that hardon, I read the emails, including ones from Sidney Blumenthal about how he could get rich from rebuilding Libya, and I know Obama tried to demand Hillary break off her dealings with Sidney Blumenthal.

But Obama was President and he was emailing Hillary at her shady private server under his own shady not-so-secret email (lol Stonetear). He kept her as Secretary of State long enough for this atrocity to happen. Obama was Commander in Chief when people were ordered to stand down. I don't remember what authority a Secretary of State ever had to order troops to stand down... although obviously Hillary turned down desperate pleadings for more security in the face of rising threats.

Not 0% Obama's fault.

And if I'm retarded, it's for trying to... communicate with you like another human being, honestly and openly, after you led off with calling me a retard over the internet.

I had to defend Biden the other day for the sake of maintaining truth and integrity and it pissed me off. It was the clip where he says a bunch of racist shit and they always throw in the video where he said the Nword, but he’s actually quoting someone else who said it in order to call them out. I believe Biden is totally racist, but you don’t help a cause when you present things out of context. All you do is give them a shield to hide behind and destroy your own credibility. It would be awesome if Nick Sandman buys CNN and turns it conservative. But he keeps Lemon and Homo and makes them put out positive Trump news. CNN could have a segment where Chris Homo praises Trump and criticizes his brother Andrew Homo for putting old people in nursing homes killing thousands.

It has to do with the repeal of the Smith-Mundson Act by the NDAA (aka Patriot Act renewal) in 2013. I need to add that propaganda in news media goes back way further though. In the 70s it was actually law that anything defined as news had to display both sides of an issue or it was entertainment only and couldn't call itself news.

Their policies are all about removing all accountability for actions, except if they think it will hurt political enemies.

Examples:

It's now legal in California to knowingly infect someone with HIV without their knowledge and consent. BUUUT you have to wear a mask and socially distance upon pain of law.

BLM in New York City can peacefully assemble (and sometimes get away with disturbing the peace) in as large crowds as they want (and people like NYC commielord deblasio's daughter get charges dropped if they manage to act out so bad they get arrested), but Orthodox Jews are not allowed to worship.

In Nevada, by Governor decree, movie theaters and casinos are allowed to have hundreds of people, but places of worship, no matter the size, are allowed no more than 50 people inside. This law was challenged all the way to the US Supreme Court and was upheld on a 5-4 decision.

Gorsuch's no-nonsense dissent is the shortest opinion I've ever seen and I am so glad he did not afford the mental abuse gymnastics of the majority opinion the dignity of receiving a laborious response.

Here it is in it's entirety:

This is a simple case. Under the Governor’s edict, a 10-screen “multiplex” may host 500 moviegoers at any time. A casino, too, may cater to hundreds at once, with perhaps six people huddled at each craps table here and a similar number gathered around every roulette wheel there. Large numbers and close quarters are fine in such places. But churches, synagogues, and mosques are banned from admitting more than 50 worshippers—no matter how large the building, how distant the individuals, how many wear face masks, no matter the precautions at all. In Nevada, it seems, it is better to be in entertainment than religion. Maybe that is nothing new. But the First Amendment prohibits such obvious discrimination against the exercise of religion. The world we inhabit today, with a pandemic upon us, poses unusual challenges. But there is no world in which the Constitution permits Nevada to favor Caesars Palace over Calvary Chapel.

I used to sort of live that lifestyle. I’m actually ok with psychedelics and alcohol in moderation. It was mushrooms that redpilled me against the hippie lifestyle. I was following jam bands (mostly Phish) in the early ‘00s and 2 big incidents caused me to put that whole scene behind me. One involved psilocybin, the other LSD. I’ve always believed those things, when used responsibly as a tool for reflection, can really open your eyes. While under the influence I had this big revelation, looking at all these people jumping around watching the same band night after night and not actually doing anything productive(I’m totally ok with hedonistic indulgence and having fun, but night after night after night to where it’s a lifestyle?). I kept thinking “where do they get this money, what’s their income?” People with kids living in a van panhandling for money to buy tickets and drugs instead of building a solid foundation for their family. Either that or rich yuppies that have a line to their parents bank account playing hippie on the weekends. At the other show I sat with a group of hippies hanging out listening to them talk about how bad the police where and how brutal they where, yet the police were standing guard around the hippie camps making sure people were safe. There were a few incidents with dickhead cops but they were far from brutal.

TL:DR under the influence of psychedelics I was redpilled in the early ‘00s to how pointless, fake and close minded the “enlightened” hippie leftists were and moved on from that scene.

Edit: For clarification I was a struggling college student at this time and caught up in the moment. It was a huge deal to me to attend these shows and I scraped money together working a summer job to go with my “friends”. The magic started to fade when all these realizations hit me over those few months.

I remember the exact moment I went, "Oh my God I'm voting for Trump." He had a rally during the 2016 election. It was in June or July. My sister was over at my house and I said, "Let's watch this and come to our own conclusion, hm?" She is just like me, so she was down. About 15 minutes in, I turned to her and looked her right in the eye and said, "This guy up here is making a lot of sense!" And she just sat there with her mouth gaped open and then finally uttered, "They... they've been lying us..." It was a real holy-fuck-we-are-being-played moment. It was spiritually and emotionally transcending.

I wasn't going to vote in 2016, so hadn't been paying close attention to the news. Of course with all the uproar over Trump, I couldn't help absorb some of his talking points. So when someone asked me that summer what I thought of Trump, I said,

"He just says what everyone's thinking."

Which as I look back on it, is the basic cause of everything we've experienced in the last 4 years. Those on the left just can't bear to acknowledge that deep down they know what Trump is saying is true. Their conflict is really with themselves, not with Trump.

Scalia diddling kids or selling arms or slanging blow or what?

10
Light_Man_X 10 points ago +10 / -0

This thread just made me realize something about the whole "You must diddle kids to be in our club"-thing. If you get to the level where they tell you about the "kiddie-diddling or no play"-thing, and you do not agree to diddle kids, they must per definition kill you. Because you know about the kiddie-diddling, without being part of it and therefore vulnerable. Not necessarily saying that is what happened to Scalia, but that must necessarily be a thing.

11
SanFranShitty 11 points ago +11 / -0

Not sure if I agree because I’m pretty sure Trump was invited to the “diddle kids” parties and didn’t partake. Which is why he’s their worse enemy now because they have nothing on him.

Oh and he’s going after them for doing this shit to kids because he’s aware of what they are up to. And he’s still alive...

6
Wolfebane84 6 points ago +6 / -0

They killed him because he wasn't leftist and playing their game and they needed obongo to have a SCOTUS pick.

1
Light_Man_X 1 point ago +1 / -0

Most probable reason yes (but there doesn't necessarily have to be a single reason either), which is why I added the "not saying this happened to Scalia" thing.

3
FragrantDude 3 points ago +3 / -0

That's not really how it works, and would get them quickly exposed. A person doesn't get to a point of success and then all of a sudden the Pedos show up to invite you to the club.

It's done how Epstein did it - get close to people and become friendly in regular social situations, and then they slowly drop hints that are extremely subtle at first. People like Epstein are masters at reading people so they're able to drop these very subtle hints to see how the other person reacts, and then stops before the other person catches on if they seem resistant. Then, the "recruiter" slowly backs away from the person then ghosts them and moves on.

2
Light_Man_X 2 points ago +2 / -0

Okay, I concede your point. But however slick they play it, there must be a "go into that room with that child now" point. And there's gotta be those who just break at that point and finally go "No, not going to do it".

1
FragrantDude 1 point ago +1 / -0

Oh absolutely I can see that playing out. Someone who's says they're totally into it and when it comes time to "go into the room" they freak and back out. What happens next could turn out bad, but remember by that point the recruiter will already have compromising evidence against them (i.e. pictures of the person with prostitutes or something), so they may be able to get away with some regular blackmail. Not to say some don't get liquidated - I'm sure some do - but just that doing that is in reality actually a huge hassle for these people so they tend to avoid it when possible.

The incident happened in 1978; I wrote about it in 1995. I don't care to write about it again, so I found it in my personal archives and copied it verbatim to my blog.

It is not easy reading. One time, shortly after I had written it and posted it on a personal Web page I had, a co-worker came to me, his face ashen. "I just now read your story about the abortion clinic," he said. That's the impact this story has. You've been warned.

I'm from Northern Europe (Scandinavia). I used to not give a shit about politics few years back, so I had no idea about anything. Suddenly, mid 2015 local newspapers started shitting on him. I was wondering at that time, who the F is this Donald Trump guy? I didn't care much, but at that time, I still believed in almost everything MSM said. So I was thinking to myself "I don't care who wins presidency as long as it's not Trump".

I mostly ignored all Trump stuff in media because I was sure he had 0 chance of winning... but then came the election day and Trump won.

Then I went and looked up some stuff about Trump, I found out that he was actually pretty good man, contrary to what local MSM was saying. That's when I started supporting Trump and I stopped believing anything MSM says.

One good thing MSM actually does, it creates more Trump supporters.

Fuck liberal media.

Liberty0rdeath 7 points ago +7 / -0

Samma här, samma här.

I’m from Sweden and the media here is disgusting. They hate Trump so much and made me question why. After watching YouTube personalities like Tim Pool, Crowder etc it really changed my perspective.

They are using the same tactics against those in Sweden who wants to stop immigration and it only makes my support that much greater for the politicians that has been warning about immigration and has been smeared daily by the press. Their masks has slipped and most people don’t trust the media anymore, at least those who are thinkers.

Grond999 10 points ago +11 / -1

Yeah....life changing (I live in Australia). I researched and released it was an inside job. BOOM! The rest is history.

9
EricCharliemella 9 points ago +11 / -2

I used to be offended when people said 9/11 was an inside job. Only the last couple years have I looked at the arguments and plausibility and I'll tell you, it's a pretty compelling case. There seemed to be Thermite being used, molten metal was pouring out, and molten metal was still at the bottom of the pile for weeks. The heroes trying to find people were needing to change their boots every couple hours because they were melting through. Scarily, the main structural beams were all cut on an angle which can be seen from some of the early rubble pictures. I say early because they cleaned that up very fast even though it was a crime scene where 3000 people lost their lives, and there was never an official investigation done. The only report was the 9/11 Commission, which only validated the government's story. Also, if WTC7 was a demolition, you at least have to consider 1 & 2 were, too.

Makes me sick to my stomach.

4
BingBongChina 4 points ago +4 / -0

I’m not sure how old you are but they did not clean that mess up quickly whatsoever. The cleanup was a verrrrry slow process going well into 2002, even 2003.

1
FragrantDude 1 point ago +2 / -1

Not to mention weren't those pictures of the cut beams shown to have been cut during the rescue and cleanup operations?

I fully believe it was an inside job, but I also believe someone flew planes into the WTC. I see people constantly harp on about melting beams, but they never talk about the fact that the beams didn't need to melt or even get hot for the building to collapse, just the rivets which are nowhere near as strong as beams and melt at a much lower temperature.

2
MOLOCH_Hunter 2 points ago +2 / -0

There were planes but also controlled demo. There is NO WAY both of those towers fell at free fall speed into their own footprints. And WTC7 did too? It would be the tallest skyscraper in nearly every other city in America but they said it fell in an obvious demo due to small office fires??

1
FragrantDude 1 point ago +2 / -1

I don't get into freefall speed thing because every argument I've heard so far about it from the pro-demolition side has been flat-earth tier arguments that essentially amount to the person not understanding some level of physics, architecture, etc. I've watched a lot of building demolitions over the years (it's a weird interest of mine), and the towers collapsing didn't look all that odd to me compared to other videos I've seen.

I'm also only talking about the two towers here - WTC7 may have been a demo, I haven't looked into it very much so I don't know. I do know those explosions on the floors right before the collapse look a whole lot like the explosions that happen in a live building as it's collapsing, so I'm not sure on that one particular piece of evidence.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying that people are wrong about controlled demolition, I just know that a lot of the "evidence" I've personally seen advocating for it is either incomplete or inaccurate which throws the whole thing into question for me.

4
Grond999 4 points ago +4 / -0

I've met Richard Gage and Steven Jones here in Australia. A friend of mine had his house raided by multiple police and detectives (big show in a suburban street) here in Australia for posting a video to YT of many different 911 footage segments with all of the timing in exact sync. Lifelong Dem, grew up idolizing the Kennedy Dems (I'm over 40) because of my home state. Then many, many years later, followed politics, and this cool Obama guy. As a black/white mix pede I was always interested in racial topics and then someone like me. However slowly I started learning that the Dems wanted my black half to be poor/needy of politicians..a vote, not a voice and never any actions. My own mother (black) said of Jesse jackson when he ran for president "he's not trying to help my black ass" I learned decades later what that meant.

Fast forward to the dallas cop assassination, obama up there saying "untangle the motives" whenever it was clear and known the blm terrorist wanted to kill white cops--his own words. Barry had chance to give hard truths and facts, but he didn't. He lied, covered up, dodged and kept contributing to the blm lie and hurting america more.

I thought "how the fuck are my black people gonna get better whenever we never have the tough discussions we need to have and stop blaming everyone else but ourselves and our shit inner city culture?" That was when.

Did you know that the reason black people committ more crimes isn't because of wealth or lack thereof? More white people are on govt assistance overall vs black people, and it's by a LOT (I have the numbers on my PC). so what then is the reason? It's a culture thing, but Dems never address it because they don't want a solution, they want captive, govt-made victims.

15
spaceforce_maganaut 15 points ago +15 / -0

Kudos to you for calling it like it is. I am seeing that black people like you are treated the worst when they openly stray from "the plantation". It's awful. Keep strong, you have Truth behind you.

3
MixedBlacknWhite 3 points ago +3 / -0

Oh, it's a "you're half black, why didnt you choose to side with us?" type of shit.

Ahh, because your "us" mentality is self-imprisonment. I have had black members of my family tell me I am racist or to turn in my black card because I didnt automatically side with their hysteria. I politely school them in on the regular, but they dont want to be learned, they want to be angry.

The 3 smartest of my generation that I speak with often (all mixed btw) in my family are conservative/Trump supporters. The dumbest ones are truly 100% ghetto morons. When I say ghetto, I mean ..yeah, that exact kind of ghetto you just pictured. Some of us were successful, so it wasnt "the system, MAAAAAN"

1
spaceforce_maganaut 1 point ago +1 / -0

I've been suggesting everywhere that the Trump Campaign MUST sponsor Larry Elder's movie Uncle Tom on Larry's Facebook and YouTube pages from now until Election Day, so that it's free and easily shareable.

Do you see something like that being of much help at this stage or no?

1
MixedBlacknWhite 1 point ago +1 / -0

I dont think anyone is changing views or learning right now.. not in the way we'd want. It will take a Trump re-election, and all the Dem liars/cheats/losers/traitors being 100% exposed before people on "that side" to make real changes. The Dem party would then have to change as well - we can only hope they will. We need 2-4 good parties in the US

2
ivan_iii_of_russia 2 points ago +2 / -0

From what I've gathered, consistent statistics on this are hard to find because the definition of "welfare" is vague. This left-leaning article (https://www.thoughtco.com/who-really-receives-welfare-4126592) does have total white recipients higher, but per capita, it's higher for black people (18.9% of the recipients on welfare are black in the article while black people represent 12.6% of the population). Other articles give statistics with higher black per-capita welfare.

It's almost like people are reasonable and can look things up and research when leftists stop calling them all racists and demonizing whites for everything.

1
MixedBlacknWhite 1 point ago +1 / -0

Just posted it

3
drug_prowling_wolf 3 points ago +3 / -0

Most of what you've said is spot on. However, know that the overall number of crimes or people on welfare does not give an accurate presentation of behavior in a group, because groups are not the same size. For example, there are 251 million whites and only 44 million blacks in the United States. In demographics, we look at crime "rate," usually meaning number of crimes committed per 1000 people in the group. This provides the crimes committed in a group relative to other groups, which reveals actual group differences.

4
MixedBlacknWhite 4 points ago +4 / -0

When I looked up the crime, it was overall crimes committed counting crimes as a 1-per event.

US population: approx 328,200,000

(Citations from Urban Institute)

  • 76% white
  • 13% black
  • 18% hispanic

which translates to:

  • 250 million approx white people in the US
  • 42 million approx black people in the US

59 million total US persons receive govt assistance

  • 43% of those people are white

  • 28% of those people are hispanic

  • 23% of those people are black

  • and for funsies.. approx 8% are asian

---> (margin of error is 1% per race here)

That equals:

  • 25 million white people in the US on govt assistance

  • 13 million black people in the US on govt assistance

30% of all US black people are on govt assistance

10% of all US white people are on govt assistance

When I realized that I'd rather hang out around republicans than stupid annoying SJW left wing cucks any day of the year.

When I had a child and realized that their life mattered from the day they were conceived to the day they were born.

When I grew the fuck up and stopped believing in stupid non-sense that the world should be fair and everyone should share everything basically.

It wasn't all at once. It was being a bernie bro and seeing what happened. It was watching hope taken away and then seeing that my hope was false in the first place.

Then being a redditor, seeing the constant trump shit on the front page. Led me to T_D. Then flirtatious looks to the community led to small micro doses of red pills. Before I knew it, I was going to reddit FOR T_D.

Can't say when, but I just realized "Holy shit, I support Trump" because he was everything I wanted in a president back in the 1990s. He was Dave (look up the movie). It was crazy. Everyone i knew always loved Dave, and here we have him. Lock stock and barrel but now suddenly we done want Dave because he's not from the beltway? Arw you kidding me???

And then of course, watching my bernie friends turn into soulless NPC demons for Hillary who they despised just weeks before...I finally woke up.

Yeah, I never took the full Red Pill until the race riots. The BLM crap has really ripped off the veil of who democrats are and how truly racist they are towards whites. Now I know what they mean when they talk about diversity. Luckily, Hillary was enough of a scummy person that I voted Trump in '16. Glad I did.

14
Rune_ 14 points ago +14 / -0

For me, it was when people pointed out that they don’t push for diversity in non- white majority countries. You don’t hear calls for more races in India or Africa, or Korea/Japan. So now “diversity” literally means “no white people” when I hear it. It’s kind of hitler-y, what they’re doing.

I was an independent, was full on the Bernie train in 2016. The DNC treating Bernie dirty was a pretty big red pill moment for me and voted for Trump at the polls as a irl shitpost and as a fuck you to the establishment. Slowly got further redpilled over the years and literally nothing that happened in the past 4 years made me regret my vote. Around August/September 2016.

I used to listen to Infowars way back, since probably around 2006/7. I was into conspiracy theory shit back then, and even though I thought Alex Jones was crazy, he was fiery, very entertaining, and at least 60-70% right about things.

That said, I pretty much gave up on politics for a while between 2014-2016. I actually even stopped listening to Alex bc he was so pro-Trump, and I somehow just believed the media lies about him.

It wasn’t until my Texan friend Came over one day and was basically destroying the entire Media narrative when I asked him who he was voting for.

I started looking more into Trump, found The_Donald on reddit, and the rest is history...

Except I disagree with Dennis Prager on like 30% of the things he says nowadays.

But I have to credit him with injecting certain values into me at a young age.

10
RedPillMissionary 10 points ago +10 / -0

I assume prager like shapiro is a bit too pro globalization. Capitalism is a tool, not a religion. Its supposed to benefit americans, not itself. The free market ends at the border.

5
wumao 5 points ago +6 / -1

Also like Shapiro, he likes to play the morale authority. Although Shapiro is more in sync with the current generation.. Dennis Prager pretends like we can go back to the 1960s and apply all of the cultural norms he grew up with to revert our society back.

I'm obviously for having a strong community and advocate for unwavering morals, but I think Dennis Prager comes off as arrogant when he tries to impose his beliefs on others.

2
synd1050 2 points ago +2 / -0

I prefer prayer to Shapiro.he is more honest.

2
Smurfection 2 points ago +2 / -0

Exactly this! I don't follow economic principles as if they are moral principles. I follow them because I want increased prosperity, for me, my family, my town, my state, my nation and eventually the whole world. I don't "follow the principle" when it means less prosperity for those closest to me.

Also, Trump proved what I had always suspected. For decades, "knowledgeable people" always said the Republicans would win every election if we just jettisoned all the pro-lifers and Christians and just went with an economic policy. The weird thing is this, I never noticed that the "economic" Republicans were all that Republican when it came to economics. Some of the biggest government Republican and the biggest spenders were all "economic" Republicans. Trump went the opposite way and talked about religion and morals and family but he's not like the economic Republican of Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney at all, and yet, Trump is doing great on the economy. For instance, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan constantly threatened Social Security, but they never ever talked about all the illegal immigrants and refugees collecting Social Security (Insurance, medicaid, Cash Assistance etc) but they always talked about those who were paying into the program and followed the rules. Anyway, the point is, Trump jettisoned all that and he has a had a great economy. Also, Those "economic Republicans" got all the grassroots they could ever had hoped for in 2009-2012 in the form of the Tea Party, and all they did was vilify the Tea Party and call it racist when it was he only purely economic grassroots movement I've ever seen.

Also, the guy who has done the most to screw up Social Security is Joe Biden. Up until the early 1990's, SSR wasn't taxable. The Joe Biden voted for a bill that made 50% of it taxable, then he voted to make 80% taxable. Then he voted for the age increases and now he's even talking about offsetting it by pensions, 401(k)s and even assets. If Joe Biden had his way, SS would be turned into just a another gibsmedat welfare system when all along it was supposed to a retirment supplement for those who paid into it. Also, I've been slow burn ticked for decades that funds that were supposed to be used for SSR and medicare, get siphoned off for illegal immigrants, refugees, Medicaid and SSI (okay, I don't have a problem with this going to truly disabled Americans). One more slow burn boiling inside of me, the number of Americans who have been allowed to adopt minors from third world shitholes who are permanently and totally disabled and those kids almost immediately end up on the government dole and will remain there for life. Americans should only be allowed to adopt healthy kids from outside our nation, not the world's most messed up, needy, medical hard cases.

Haha! My red pill moment...I go way back: When Ronald Reagan replaced (fired) all the airport tower control guys on strike. I was pretty apolitical then but leaning left influenced by the media. This act of pure cojones and putting the country first while standing up to the union made me pay attention.

14
DaoDeDickinson 14 points ago +14 / -0

Wish something could be done about the teacher's unions that are holding our nation hostage.

I had a 40 something co-worker and mom that has worked with me for about 20 years breakdown crying and quit last month. Her ex-husband treated her like absolute shit - he wouldn't pay any child support, would do all his work in cash under-the-table so with that plus illicitly gotten government benefits he made more than his ex-wife and daughter. And my co-worker tried legal action fruitlessly.

Day cares and public schools are now illegal and closed. The unwritten rule of our society since Truman's NSC 68 is that women would be forced to stay in the work force as they had been during World War II in order to keep pace with the communists that had their women working and forced communal child care. Public schools would become mandatory day care so that moms could work (and moms would be forced to have to work for Americans to maintain the same standard of living by way of inflation, but that's another story). Recently my coworker's parents moved to a remote area that was cheaper. My co-worker tried to keep juggling all of her kids of various ages, while affordable day cares were illegal, and I watched her turn on the local news and find she was abandoned as the local public schools announced they wouldn't be taking care of kids.

So after decades of trying to make it work, and trying many side-hustles, she decided in her 40s she had to quit her job, move back in with her parents, with all her children, because her parents were the only childcare she could afford.

8
DaoDeDickinson 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yeah, that was definitely a real deal moment.

Obama pledged to close Gitmo. Within a week of taking office, he was making excuses about why it couldn't and shouldn't be done.

Also, he made a fundraising video for some nuclear disarmament special-interest org about how he would get rid of nuclear weapons while he said opposite things in public. And now Kamala and Biden go back and forth, brazenly, every day it almost seems, on whether they will ban fracking or not, whether they support a green new deal or not (Biden's so senile he went back and forth on that within a minute in the debate), and they both promise to keep secret from the American people whether they support packing the Supreme Court until the American people are safely finished voting.

Setting aside his personal life, never once have I felt like Donald Trump has articulated a policy preference that he didn't truly believe in.

34
Swagnon 34 points ago +34 / -0

The pivot early in the Bernie campaign to go against Trump made no logical sense when Hillary was your opponent and at the time the campaign had some cross over with trumps policies.
