He's saying pretty much the same thing the Founders did. Revolution is extreme but extreme actions are sometimes justified.

You realize starting a war against Britain and becoming independent wasn't their preferred course of action, right?

The American Revolution didn't happen spontaneously and it was not entirely because we hated being under British rule. We just got sick and tired of not being taken seriously as a part of Britain and not having any real say in anything. It took years of heavy taxing and severe lack of communication to finally start a revolution.

Exactly. Even after actual fighting had started, the Founders would've stayed loyal to the crown if the problems were actually addressed. It was the British doubling down on being cunts that left no choice but to break away completely.
