It's actually true. When you leave the toilet lid open and flush, liquid droplets small enough to float in the air are ejected from the bowl. It was years ago but I read a report that found these droplets with fecal matter on toothbrushes and face towels that were in the same bathroom. Not to mention you'd also breathe the droplets in.
I heard some doctor, I think, recently talking about fecal-oral spread of coronavirus. I really didn't know what he meant, but I think there are studies about this. The virus has supposedly been found in the feces of Covid patients. When flushing the toilet, the virus might get into the air around the toilet bowl. I would think that closing the lid of the toilet before flushing could still leave the virus on the inside of the toilet lid. Fuck it. We really just need to move on and live our lives.
