They sure are. I use to drive them around as a full time job. The car isn't their problem. It's the freedom to leave the eyes of the community and sin. They are big on accountability. So by having to get a ride, someone else is there to hold you accountable for your actions.
The Amish accept car rides from anyone. There's no rule against it and they do it all the time in PA. They just can't own cars.
In 2016 the call went out that the Amish needed rides to the Polls and MAGA people came thru at the last minute.
Yes. Used to have an Amish babysitter when I was a kid who asked for rides to other towns a lot. She was a widow, so maybe that contributed.
