This would seem to suggest that the 9NEWS hired an Antifa member, as a means of giving them access to the "protests". It wouldn't surprise me if not showing faces or aiding them in spreading propaganda was an implied or explicit term of their agreement.
Obviously, details are limited, and for now it's speculation, but this murder trial might be one worth following closely - for many reasons, but specifically we might learn something about collaboration between Antifa and news networks.

Makes no sense to me either. If he's so worried about mace (and that's reasonable in some situations) why did he close the distance and have his weapon drawn on somebody who intitially wasn't even engaging him?
Is there a video of that? I was thinking that the mace was probably used in response to a guy holding a gun, but I have not seen a video where the actual shooting is visible.

If you listen to the first released video, you hear a gun rack at 0:43 and then the mace spray and then the shot. I have no idea what was going through the guard’s mind. You can see him in Tiegen’s livestream video on Instagram following a few paces back with the blue shirt/orange backpack kid
