Yup. Gun drawn and no mace in the air.

The other image shows the shell casing ejecting and the slide moving forward, with mace in the air having not yet reached the shooter.

It does appear that the deceased individual attempted to mace the shooter, who already had his gun drawn out, to try to prevent himself from getting shot.

So, his "I didn't deliberately pull the trigger, I flinched from the mace!" excuse is out the window.

Excellent.

Yes. It's a bit sobering to ponder that the image of the shooting we'er all seeing actually has the bullet that kills the man still in flight. Somewhere in there is the projectile about to hit that man's face and end his life. Zooming in shows the shell casing ejecting and the lack of barrel tilt, to me, indicates the slide is moving forward to return to battery.

As John Correia from ASP routinely points it, making sure your spiritual fitness is up to date is equally as important as your mental and physical fitness. No man knows the day or hour, and this man didn't know today would be his last, when he left home for this event.

Always be prepared for the rest of your life and the afterlife, pedes.

hate to tell you, but that bullet had already impacted the victim long before the casing was ever extracted from the chamber. i believe this is why the mace is so off target. to me it looks like it is sprayed well to the shooter's right, toward the fencing.
