A lot of you guys seem very knowledgeable about past US policies and their effects, different presidents' histories, the US's involvement in foreign conflicts, basically everything. I'm dumb as hell and don't even know where to start. I just need a few book recommendations to get me up to speed. There's so much ground to cover...

Thomas Sowell is very readable and helps with a fundamental understanding.

Start by reading the Three Founding Documents of the USA.

Then things will begin to change for the better.

if you're for real starting from scratch then start from the beginning

learn the founders and the founding, what they thought and why

or fuck that shit, I'm a dinosaur telling you how I learned things ... watch Prager U videos in no particular order, learn about the last century of collectivist catastrophes from Peterson interviews, listen to all of Dan Carlin's Hardcore History if you like war and empires, etc

Incidentally, Mike, you are not "dumb", you are just ignorant. Something can be done ab ignorance...and that's what you are dong by asking questions. Not much can be done for dumb...just try taking to a Lib!

Shit, anything that's relevant to understanding the current political climate. I have no idea how far down this rabbit hole goes.
