She has no say in the matter. The entire basis of our constitutional monarchy is that the monarch keeps their nose out of politics. The Queen technically has the power to do a lot of things but would never, ever do them.
If she did get involved and tried to exercise the powers she theoretically holds it would cause a constitutional crisis upto and including possible civil war. Most likely outcome is parliament would hold an immediate referendum to abolish the monarchy and she would be stripped of all perks, titles and property and placed under arrest.
The royals are outside the law. All laws require royal ascent. Judges are of the crown. She could murder someone in broad daylight and nothing would happen.
All the commonwealth countries prime ministers swear personal allegiance to the crown. They promise to hold secret any conversations they have with her and be loyal and faithful servants to the crown.
The British crown has unimaginable wealth and real power, regardless of whatever fairytale the plebs are told.

To add more, hotels and motels offered their rooms free, not all of them did so, but plenty did. There wasn't enough hotel space in some cities, when people found out they started offering their homes. Ride sharing was setup, people turned up at the airports and drove people to destinations so they could find some place to sleep. People paid for medications for those stuck without funds, hospitals setup quick-clinics to get people who were short on medications get temporary prescriptions setup.
It was a damn shit time, a real shit time. But when shit happened nobody cared and we pulled together on it.

I’ve met Canadians from pretty much every province. They’ve always been super cool to me. I know they exist, but I’ve never met an asshole Canadian. However, when I go to Australia to visit, there’s either super cool aussies that, even though they hear American accents all the time on tv, they hear me speak and are a bit shocked hearing me talk and wanna be friendly. On the other side, I’ve met my fair share of pieces of shit in Australia.

ISO Went into effect/was popularized by big companies--like Microsoft--around the same time things started to ship off to China. It was passed off as "regulating the Chinese manufacturers" as well as US ones by creating an international standard for manufacturing to make trade "easier for American businesses." (...Easier to sell out to China instead of supporting US manufacturing, that is.)
Except it had nothing to do with manufacturing & was all about office management of the manufacturing industry. The only tiny contribution toward regulating actual manufacturing was simply setting standard units & file extensions that were already in use by all US manufacturers (& even a great deal of the Chinese ones) anyway. The rest was a ridiculous amount of requirements ranging from software to office management style to processes, paperwork, internal & external auditing, etc., most of which is a total waste of time & resources for small companies that don't need a gigantic, complex internal process like that for a few, or even more than a few, employees. By ISO, no one was allowed to audit themselves, so if you're the only designer or secretary or CNC operator or whatever, you either have to hire & train another employee just to internally audit you or pay an outside company. And on top of this, you had to pay external auditors/ISO certifiers to certify the company after months of setting up & following this system, producing the paper trail to back it up, & have them review it. And then you have to renew it yearly.
Oh, and of course, it required Microsoft office as the standard software for paperwork. Literally nothing to do with tooling, or material quality, or anything directly related to manufacturing. Absolute horseshit for any small manufacturing business trying to grow or stay afloat. But the big wigs in the manufacturing industry & beyond went with it anyway, knowing the small & medium-sized companies didn't have the resources for that kind of expense & would struggle to compete.

So not only did it not make any sense whatsoever for US manufacturers, who were already following standards, to go through all this extra crap, on top of making it easier for globalists & sell outs to ship work out of the US, but also, over the years, any small business that did not pay its way into "the club" scheme only got measly leftovers for work, that were fewer & fewer as years passed. This abysmal piece of regulation was a triple whammy that effectively choked & killed off any small, medium, & even large manufacturers that would have otherwise been able to compete with China's absolutely laughable manufacturing quality & survive even with China's price undercutting.
Knowing Gates now, this whole ISO thing was absolutely coordinated with the globalist agenda.
I can't believe I used to want to be like that asshole when I was younger. That whole romantic story of the college kid that dropped out and made a successful company, only to find out that, no, he's part of a globally connected family, he never really had to go to college in the first place, and his company was supported both financially and administratively by other, more successful, people his father knew. What a fucking scam.
That's one of my silver linings of this year: everyone now knows who Bill Gates is beyond his own pr.

This is why cutting off or shrinking manufacturing trade with China/the world alone won't be enough to revive US manufacturing.
ISO is still very much alive & well, and it is still in the way of any any small to medium manufacturing business that has managed to survive by the grace of God thus far, including any manufacturing start-ups or previously-closed manufacturers that may try to (re)form with the influx of work.
So even if work returns from China, all that work is going to be funneled to big corporations, who will either try to manufacture internally instead of going through the supply/assembly chain, or to whatever big manufacturers are left, with a head start over the smaller ones. With ISO still in effect/popular as a standard for most govt/industry contracts & work, it will only serve to entirely corporatize & monopolize the US manufacturing industry, which is what has been suffocating the US economy slowly for the last 100 years. There needs to be healthy & diverse competition within the US manufacturing industry to keep it efficient, keep prices low & competitive with manufacturing across the rest of the world, allow for different tiers of manufacturing, and allow of a healthy middle class (as opposed to yet another serf-to-CEO situation).
You know, healthy, freemarket capitalism. This will not happen if ISO is not removed as a contract requirement across many industries & dumped in a ditch somewhere in place of mail-in ballots.
Problem is: ISO is not even a government-issued standard--It was set up & promoted by private organizations. So Trump can't directly influence the regulations within ISO to reduce them significantly or make allowances for different sizes of businesses. And while private companies can't be forced into removing ISO from their contract requirements, hopefully Trump sees to it so that government contracts are free of it (or at least only ISO-compliant as opposed to fully certified, which removes much of the pay-to-play-wall). That would open up a lot of opportunities for positive change to happen in US manufacturing at small & mid-size levels. While it may not remove ISO from the picture completely, it may pabe a pathway for manufacturing business to work their way up the ladder to becoming ISO-certified as opposed to locked out.
If we win in November I'll be coming home to bring the fight. Trust me

I have so little hope for Canada's future that it's sad. I live in the Toronto area, and I feel so hated and unwanted. Sounds like our situations are similar. Before all of the lock down stuff happened I took frequent trips to the US and elsewhere which I think helped clam my mind and made me think things weren't as bad as they are. However, a few months into the lock down I really realized just how grim the situation is, and with no means of escape I knew this wasn't where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. I'm currently waiting for visa related stuff as well. I wish you all the best!
My lawyer says the backlog is massive right now. When you think about it, many successful Canadians - if not most - leave. Or own vacation homes in the US. Or take vacations stateside every chance they get. I remember Canada of my youth, the 90s and early 00s. It has slid so far, so fast. It's not the country I grew up in. I don't think you, as well as the vast majority of Canadians, recognize the full depth of the problem we face in Canada.
Let me start at the beginning. Canada is comprised of sovereign provinces, and territories. We are a federation of provinces, not a federation of Canadians. There is some question as to the legitimacy of our "constitution" and even our status as a separate nation. Go read the Statute of Westminster or the Canada Act. Why did we need the UK parliament as late as 1982 to give us permission to amend our own constitution? Those documents "effectively" make Canada "sovereign," but can be rescinded at any time by the UK parliament!! Quebec never even signed on, so I question what even can be "constituted" without unanimous consent. What if the US and Canada voted to make Mexico a colony, tough titties eh Mexico, 2 to 1. Democracy, eh!
This not being enough, the lizard queen has positioned a governor general in our country as her agent. All our politicians swear allegiance to the crown, not to us. The GG seldom exercises this power, but they can essentially legally become dictator of Canada at any time, and our police and army will enforce their right to do so, plus their right to order anything at all, which orders wouldn't be subject to our "constitution."
I intend to put "constitution" in quotes. What manner of "constitution" purports to grant a "right" to be free from unreasonable search and seizure, but courts interpreting that "right" permit indiscriminate Five Eyes surveillance of Canadians, and also to allow Canadians to be stopped in traffic without any cause, to be subject to demands for papers, saliva samples, blood samples, and breath samples. What good was the "right"?
Then there's the racial caste issue. We have some races in Canada who are essentially immune from prosecution for crimes permitted. We also have no right to possess weapons, and if one should ever defend oneself from literal armed home invaders who kick in your door at night, you will be the one arrested. Gerald Stanley did nothing wrong, but he is to this day defamed by our state owned "news" outlet, CBC. As one would expect, this has resulted in extreme unfairness. In the city nearest me, a man caught another man pissing on his fence. He told him not to. The pissing man came back with his friends, who were in a gang. They got out of their vehicle barking like dogs and shot the first man to death in his yard in front of his wife and four kids. The killers are all free right now, poor boys. The deceased remains deceased. It could happen to any of us, at any time.
If you think your public schools are left, wait til you see ours. And I've had a sore back for years, but docs will only prescribe physio, opiates, or surgery, no X-rays, it's not what their programming tells them, and we can't just go out and buy an X-ray because socialized medicine has a monopoly on medical services. My dog has had 2 X-rays in the same time period (dumb damn mutt swallows balls), not even a wait.

When you recognize this fact, you pretty quickly recognize that all of the environmental treaties we signed on to allow China to use our carbon sinks for free, and we pay taxes for the privilege. Meanwhile, Canada endures yearly unthinkably huge trade deficits with China. Fer fuck's sakes boys, you didn't think of selling carbon sinks to China to offset that deficit?
Meanwhile, deficits go up, and our purchasing power goes down. We will be at a Mexico standard of living by the end of this decade if this keeps up. It's only been since 2001 that China joined the WTO. That's how short of a time it took for our country to fall down from that level. Do any of you remember nest eggs? Compound interest? Owning a house and a cabin because we weren't competing with the world's ultra corrupt for housing in our own country? Not even thinking about the cost of sending your kids to university, even med school?
I can't imagine why housing prices are going up even as unemployment is at 10%. Maybe it has something to do with the flights coming in daily from China, even as I'm not allowed to travel freely within Canada.
I could go on, but it's getting depressing. I'm a go drink a Molson "Canadian" (it's owned by the yanks now), maybe a Tim's coffee (it's owned by the yanks now), maybe some weed (it doesn't get you high and costs a ton, government grows it now). I remember Canada. After the Normandy landings, the Allies remained bottled up in hedgerow country. One of the few ways out was over a mesa covered with Nazi tanks and those awful anti-tank 88s. Monty sends the Canadians in their Shermans up the ridge, at night, over and over again, taking horrendous losses, until they break through. After that, seems the Canadians were given all the dirty jobs no one else wanted, like clearing the Scheldt island, where Nazis were deeply dug in and determined to prevent us from getting access to a deep water port (Antwerp).
