Yes. This is the film of the butchered turtle. If I remember the story correctly, the director forced the actors to butcher the turtle, after the deed was done the actor decked the director in the face.

Yep, I think the turtle scene is what pushed the critics over the edge lol...I think there was wooden dildos too lol

It's kind of funny that this film was criticized for blood and gore and animal cruelty so they banned the film. (I think there was a term for banned gory films, "Nasty Something" idk) But they have not criticized Disney nature films for brutalizing animals. I think the ban was to cover of what the story actually is about and not just a gore fest. I don't think the majority of the people knew the film exist up until the some time in the early 2000.

Yeah I never heard of it until I studied it for a course in college...it’s tame compared to stuff you see now but back then they probably freaked out

It was just a turtle if remember right but they showed how you would slaughter one in graphic detail...I mean it’s tame compared to what you see nowadays but for that time it was graphic

I'm not a hunter but I would like to hunt one of these days (maybe not turtles). For hunting purposes and if there is nothing else around, sure. But filming in a motion for entertainment purposes is disturbing.
