Colorado resident here: Definitely attracted the worst of the worst. Also bringing in their leftist voting brigade. Now this place is permanently fucked. Ganjapreneurs have no place to stash money so it goes into housing. Prices are out of control here even during COVID no signs of slowing down. Fuck this place.
Same thing happened here in California. The spoiled kids and wannabe artists came here because weed was legal. Similar reason why naked degenerates are attracted to San Francisco. Public nudity is legal there, so it attracts them.
I heard about the building boom - and yet prices aren't declining in rents or otherwise. That's wild.
It's a double whammy because Denver has been notorious for being behind national wages in general. I only got a bump in salary when I took a job in Missouri and then returned to CO later with a new salary base much higher than if I stayed.
Combine that with rents that more than trippled in the 90s and it was quite the the shitshow. I can only imagine what it's done in the last 20 years.
