It’s telling you that Columbus Day was found in your Holidays Calendar. So you can adjust your alarm if you don’t have to work. Not telling you to remove the date from your calendar.
Ya, Siri does this for all holidays to remind you to
turn off your daily alarms since you might not be working. It doesn’t say anything about taking it “off your calendar”.
Not sure exactly what this over the top rage is about. Let’s not act like fools like the other side.

It annoys me that Apple puts Eid in their standard US holidays calendar, with no easy way to remove it.
You've already replied to my comment below, but in case anyone else does not.... I explain how to do so below. It's easy:

I've already done it, thanks again.
You can also disable this altogether.
Go to Settings--->Calendar--->Default Alert Times
Change All-Day Events to None.
The fucking calendar on my android phone doesn't have Thanksgiving as a holiday. But the day after is marked as "Indigenous People's Day".
Fuck google.
Holy shit you're right! Mine says native American heritage day.
Thats not what it says at all...
Username checks out.
Good idea: I’m going to celebrate Columbus Day every month now.
Setting aside the OP's misunderstanding about the intent of the alert:
If you want to replace Apple's US Holiday calendar with one that doesn't have all the politically correct holidays, it's relatively easy to do so.
Nice!
Your history is an aberration to them, expect constant attacks until you give up
