Yesterday before the Miami-Clemson game, Clemson bussed in their team on 10 busses instead of the usual 3 to prevent the spread. They then proceeded to all group up in the tunnel and tackle and sweat all over each other for 60 minutes.

If they wanted to keep people watching in today's world, they would need apps that let you upvote/downvote the players, coaches, plays, calls, refs, announcers, etc. But then they'd find out just how much America really hates their degenerate pseudosport, so they'd rather just let it die. RIP

I manage a restaurant and for the game on Friday I purposely didn't put it on any of the 15 tvs we have. I wanted to see how many people requested it. Ended up at only 2 tvs. Over the course of several hours, and dozens of groups being sat only two groups wanted the Finals on. Anecdotal, but really showed me the lack of interest this year.
NbA is boring anyway...unless you like watching an abortion of real basketball rules...probably why the lefties love it

I'll go one further, I don't even know who's playing in the finals. I'll just assume some team is playing the Lakers.

Something weird happened to me a few months after I got out of the Corps in '00. I had approx $12k in the bank and I was at a mall about to go on a shopping spree. I was holding a pair of Jordan's and they were somewhere in the neighborhood of $120. I sat down and was about to put them on when I realized I was about to buy some plastic and leather for my feet that cost less $5 to make. I left the mall with only the biggest Casio watch I could find (because a good Marine always has a watch and an ink stick)
I lost all interest in sports within a year, having been a Chicago sports fan my entire life, to the point that if you talked shit about the Bears I was literally ready to fight. I didn't even know the White Sox had won the world series in 2005 until the middle of the next year. Today I couldn't tell you the starting line up of any major sports team to save my life.

What's funny is other sports and broadcasters should have been more outspoken against the woke sports because for some people, this will have a trickle down effect. For example, I was an avid fan of MLB baseball but didn't watch a single game this season. I haven't watched the NBA in over 20 years or the NFL in 6, so MLB was going to be my only "fix" of sports. So much for that.
I was resigned to wait for College Football season, hoping they also wouldn't go woke with visible displays of hatred/racism, names on jerseys, racist logos on the field, etc AND allow fans in the stands. That actually happened, so I was excited. I ended up watching one game, which went into overtime (so it wasn't a boring game) but I was bored out of my skull. I'd been conditioned to prefer doing things other than watching sports.
This is just one longtime spectator of various sports as an example. However, I wouldn't be surprised if there are others who found the same thing happened to them by the time a non-woke sport showed up; they just stopped caring about it.
I'm also wondering if the same thing will happen with movies/TV. I found entire days during the initial stages of the plandemic where I didn't watch TV for a second. No news. No entertainment. Nothing. When they decided to start trapping people at home thinking they'll have nothing to do except consume their mind-numbingly awful products, they probably thought ratings would soar. They didn't. I wonder how many people instead made the decision to stop watching and even cancelling their services. Especially those forced out of a job by the fear-mongering scam the media thmselves created and decided TV was an unnecessary expense.
That whole industry was in a slow motion decline that went into hyper speed when The Germ hit.
The days of counting on close to 100 million households contributing $80-120/month for cable are over. The 9 figure payouts for blockbuster movies are likely over. This reduction of money into the ecosystem (most households will only contribute $20/month max for streaming) is going to absolutely obliterate the entire industry.
The first provider that offers truly a la carte programming will dominate. I know that providers like Sling call themselves "a la carte" but they're exactly the same as the cable/satellite providers. Picking from crappy packages THEY put together is not a la carte. It's like going to a buffet, but they decide what you get to put on your plate.
Someday someone's going to come along and figure this out. There must be tons of legal bullshit standing in the way of this happening. It would be nice if Congress acted on this rather than naming post offices for "gay rights leaders" and other assorted garbage. No wonder so many people just get content from the pirate sites.
The DOJ needs to drop a giant dildo up the ass of the content producers for running an illegal tying operation for cable channels. In essence a handful of companies own all the channels and they insist that they all be bundled. Can you imagine how bad Fake News CNN and MSDNC would be harmed if people had the right to exclude them from cable. They’d have like a million subscribers and go tits up inside of a year.
I use an IPTV provider and for $15 I get better service and customer service than my family does with cable. I don't know why more people don't pirate, but I like to keep it low key because it's awesome and I dont want people to ruin it.
