My first build was a psa it had a couple qc issues I wasn’t happy with and put a bad taste in my mouth

Was it recent? They upped their QC in the last few years. And if i'm not mistaken they just bought out Remington.

It was like a year ago. Got an a2 lower and it came super caked in dust, the trigger was nice for a milspec one though. After my 2nd range trip, the stock screws came loose and the stock slipped off barely holding the receiver extension in place. Also the barrel extension and feed lips were not aligned correctly on the upper. I sold the upper, kept the stripped lower (no issue there, hammer wear is normal and not misaligned) sold the A2 stock because I just decided I wanted a collapsible stock. Bought an aero upper with a ds arms barrel (btw awesome barrel for the price) got an aero receiver extension and all aero parts for the rest and put it together. The ds arms barrel was more accurate out of the box too.

The castle nut can back off if you don’t stake it or apply loctite. Did you buy it assembled? If you get an armorers wrench you can monkey man that shit tight but I would check it every once in a while. The feed ramps part is a bit disappointing. I bought an upper from PSA for shits and giggles, because who doesn’t want multiple ARs, and I had a good experience.

With The m4 buffer tube I installed it with blue loctite and staked it the a2 stock was the one that came loose

Ah, well thank you for the info, ill make sure to recheck all my parts, I've taken it to the range a few times, only had it for about 3 months now and had it out a few times. So far I haven't had issues, really unfortunate you had that experience though. So far mine has been pretty accurate out of the box, but I haven't had time to really sit down and put a decent sight on it and zero it. Can hit targets pretty decently at 50 yards with a decently small grouping but I haven't adjusted the sights much from stock(running magpul Mbus irons atm).

Yeah I’m sure yours is just fine. Psa makes decent parts, it’s the QC that they skimp in which makes them cheaper, well one of the reasons. Just a higher chance of getting a bad one from them is all.
