Correct, Facebook isn’t “responsible” for this any more than Gmail would be responsible if you emailed kiddie porn images to John Podesta. Or making your phone company “responsible” if you call someone and conspire to commit a felony.

The endgame result of making tech firms responsible for things users do on their platforms is complete government regulation of free speech online, mass censorship (beyond anything that is already happening), and ultimately Chinese tech supremacy when U.S. companies are prohibited from using encryption.

true, but they're also one of the few actually looking and reporting so everyone else is not innocent because their numbers are low. it's like the US and chinese virus testing
