Here's my response to the anti-Columbus day shit. If you don't want to celebrate Columbus day, fine, but that means you have to go to class or work on that day, no exceptions. Personally I wish I could still take Columbus day off like I could when I was a kid. And as a kid, I didn't give a fuck if Columbus literally was Hitler, I didn't have to go to school on a Monday in October. And then when I got to college whenever some 300 lb beach whale was screaming about how evil Columbus day was I said just that "You're free to not celebrate and go to class. Me on the other hand, will take the day off from class."
