I actually know a few NFL players due to my cousin being a Hekker...And there is a good percentage of players who are very smart. Of course there are those who sped through all formal schooling due to preferential treatment but that doesnt mean they are dumb. Have you ever seen an NFL playbook? They have to memorize that.

yes, they can be and the overwhelming majority are. it takes time and effort to study a playbook and gameplan. it does not take "intelligence." the average black person in america has an iq of 85 and the average white person 100. the nfl is 70% black and 30% white, fyi.
these guys are not of average intelligence, they are football players so they are slightly to severely dumber than the average person (on average). sure a few are very smart, but that is far <1% of the league.
