Aha, problem solved! The app I used to delete the metadata seems to have been excessive. I took a screenshot of the picture, and that had no location metadata, but enough other metadata, and it's posted. Yay! First Sunday gunday post!
I had something similar happened, I closed all open .win tabs and tried it again and it work

Print screen. Paste in Paint. Save as.
