So one of the guys in my battalion is a praciticing Sikh, well not too long ago, we started working out together. And we started hanging out a lot. And our battalion because they had us on lockdown so we couldn't take block leave in the summer. We got to make up for it recently.
Well, before i left to go home, I posted a photo of one of my gym workouts with my buddy.
Well my one cousin is a complete baby freshman at a four year university and is basically drinking the kool aid, and she knows I voted Trump, and starts bitching at me as to how I can have a muslim friend and still vote Trump.
Well my buddy goes 'I'm not a muslim I'm a Sikh.' Well....she then pisses him off because she apparently thinks that Sikh is another word for Sunni Islam. And then proceeds to lecture him on not lying about who he is.
He basically reiterates he is not a muslim and her response is 'then why do you wear a turban?'
Well.....my friends, Sikh's are some of the nicest people I ever met, but daaaammmn, he started tearing her a new asshole.
Sikhs, in my experience, hate being called Muslim....big no, no. I understand why. I hope the ripping actually leaves an impression on her.
If a core component of your religion is to never ever be unarmed in case a Muslim decides you need conversion....yeah, they won't care for it.
Love me some Sikh's. I know almost nothing of their religion, but they practice being good and kind, and that's no small task to me.
Not just against a Muslim, but against any aggressor that puts yourself or others at risk.
Ok, here is a little story about a Sikh. This happened long long ago. It was after a great battle where a Sikh stronghold was being attacked. After the battle ended for the evening (that's how long ago it was), the Sikh medic went out to treat the wounded. After awhile he was joined by a young companion. The young man was astonished, "Why are you treating the enemy?" The medic was like, "What? That's a silly question." That isn't what he actually said, but captures his attitude.
"they practice being good and kind"
So weird that we have to defend such true virtues but sure enough we do and we are and I'm impressed so much that we have been.
We're winning but we must be diligent. And I know I'm preaching to the choir.
I don't know much about them either but I just can't think of anything they've done to make headlines like Muslims and the Left have
Yup. Confusing a Sikh for an Islam cultist is like... confusing a conservative for a fascist. Total opposites.
Sadly it seems like pretty popular things for leftists to do these days!
Sikhs have a long history of battling muslims, and they don't take kindly to being associated with them.
Lot of bad blood between Sikhs and Muslims.
In fact their shared hatred for Islam is why Sikhs and Hindus can still work together.
