I worked on the USS Vinson in 2012 (as a civilian) and everyone I talked to said they shut down comms for a week or so, but other than that no one saw anything. No funeral, nothing.
I also heard the comms went out for the entire time of the raid. The official story is that they gave him "a proper Muslim burial" - WTF - and that "no country would accept his remains"
They also never even fully ID'd the body, by their own accounts. It's a disgrace.
There should have at least been some sort of hearings on this. Officials have to explain why we give the supposed financier of the largest domestic attack in US History, a proper burial, when we were fine with carpet bombing innocent civilians in Afghanistan.
