A few weeks ago, my dad and I stopped at a local diner after his chemo treatment. We watched a bald white guy sitting alone, and an older black woman sat down with a seat in between them at the counter. He then asked her how her morning was, they get to talking, they both find out they supported the military, and by the time we were walking out they had scooted next to each other and were talking deeply.
Someone might have handed out Biden signs. I pretty sure that's what happened in my small town. Yards in the ghetto that have never had political signs have Joe and a local politician's name. I think she handed them out together because people probably had no idea who she was. They have no chance here either way so I don't know why she bothered.

It really is, it’s sad, that story wouldn’t have been worth more than a warm glance years ago. Americans are far from inherent racists
