I had a heated discussion about this with a family member a few days ago. I went to bed trying to comprehend it and woke up still trying to comprehend it .

The excuse they gave was about how awful the foster system is so why fill it more? That, of course, is a completely different issue so really holds no candle in the abortion discussion. The they went with the classic ‘her body her choice’ schtick. Which is also awful because it’s not her body, it’s a separate human life (as all of us here understand this). When I said baby murder they said it wasn’t because the baby doesn’t feel pain until a point. I was legit going to lose it.

Even as I was calling them out for being a fuckin idiot. Even asked them if they ever saw the aftermath of an abortion(they haven’t). It was the classic argument of avoiding consequences and responsibility without realizing thats what they were saying.

In the end people who support abortion are selfish human beings, their life is the only one that matters. They can’t hide it no matter how they dress it up in altruistic clothes.

The how awful the foster system argument is logically equivalent to "life sucks, why not just kill yourself." Not exactly a compelling argument.

Compelling enough for a nihilist.

The liberal arm of our society is spiritually sick.

Exactly. They say that then say something along the lines of "I'd rather be dead".

Boggle's my mind that people can let themselves fall so low in terms of life and how precious it is and how privileged one is to just be born.

The fact someone would rather have abortions in favor of having those kids go to foster care because the system is absolute garbage. Instead of going after the system itself does not make the issues the same.

Abortion and the foster care system are two different problems, you should not conflate the two into one argument.

Homeless shelters are full. Guess Bankruptcy courts better start executing people who lose their houses.
