The governor said Pennsylvanians must wear masks and engage in social distancing until further notice.

That HAS to become a dealbreaker for people. You're not "Easing" anything if people still have to wear a mask and distance. REMOVING the masks has to become part of the easing

So much for Fifteen Days to Flatten the Curve! You guys remember when this was all about staying home a couple weeks so they could build ventilators? Now they are begging people to come get tested, running those numbers up, many are asymptomatic or mild, but yet, still online school? No fans at sporting events? Standing in line to get in a store?

It's much more than that. They're normalizing "bread line" behavior. They're isolating individuals by removing the social bonds that make our communities strong.

A pandemic is a leftist revolutionary's wet dream.

11

Plus the Democrat has an inner craving for control and oppression. The very idea of freedom sickens their dark twisted souls. They are pure evil.

You’re right. It took me four stores just to find a birthday cake for my cousin and the place that did have then said they don’t put names on them anymore

7
tycho 7 points ago +7 / -0

That's exactly it. This has to be an anti trump thing. I'm just not sure how.

I had an idea that it could be because the dems just have an affinity for chaos. They like breaking things down, and try to justify it with reasons why.

11
Litterboxer1 11 points ago +11 / -0

It's 100% political. It's simply really, as it's lose-lose for President Trump. He doesn't lock down, all the deaths can be blamed on him. He does lock down, the economy tanks, and that's blamed on him. Fuck democrats.

...and no promise that any of the "eased restrictions" will remain in place. In other words, if they decide they don't like an upcoming event, they'll enforce greater restrictions once again to stop the event. If the peasants are revolting, they'll increase them even further as revenge.

It's the people still hiding out in their basements who enjoy being scared. The same ones now excitedly discussing how to create plastic candy delivery tubes for Halloween so they can avoid even seeing other human beings and trying to encourage everyone else to partake in their paranoia. The pure evil of these people know no bounds.

15
MikeVicksAstrologist 15 points ago +15 / -0

Wait ..that's a thing? Holy shit I'm glad this lying china virus shit died here back in may. Gotta get out of those big cities pedes

12
TheThreeSeashells 12 points ago +12 / -0

At first, I thought the delivery tube was just a bunch of Karens in our neighborhood trying to get everyone to sink to their level of insanity. Then last night I saw someone who lives in another part of the country post a link to a professionally made video explaining how to make one of these creepy delivery tubes. I'm guessing by next week they'll be showing up in Walmart for five dollars.

When these crazy Karens were discussing the alternatives to simply, you know, handing out candy in person like normal people, a few people suggested scattering the candy on the lawn. Yes, they were serious: Make the kids forage for candy on the ground like animals.

South Dakotans can walk around like always and a few miles away in the middle of no where Minnesota they have to walk around masked up! Walz made mask mandate for entire state. Some areas of MN have virtually no people and they are having to pretend they are in the heart of Minneapolis.

They love *trying to make rural areas follow stupid rules.

I went to a soccer game yesterday and my cousin's kid was on the opposing team. We had all kinds of extended family sitting together, under a 10x10 shelter. With no masks. And we even hugged people that we hadn't seen for months!

6 soccer fields in one complex. Games on all of them. No masks anywhere. Parents in their normal little groups on the sidelines, even sharing umbrellas with non-family members.

Parents from most of the teams holding hands and praying while a player was taken off the field in an ambulance.

Dems can go choke on a bag of dicks before we all give in to their stupid rules.

3
thisisatestof2 3 points ago +3 / -0

However, if you burn down a police station you don’t need to wear a mask in Minnesota, right?

2
HockeyMom4Trump 2 points ago +2 / -0

Oh you need a so the police can’t identify you. The criminals love mask mandates. Put on a hoodie, mask, and sunglasses and you are tough to identify when looting alcohol from the liquor store

It blows my mind that anyone is ok with this. What is wrong with people? The America I thought I knew would never accept this.

19

That's what decades of media and school brainwashing, along with mass immigration will do to a country.

I guess I kind of knew that our Democrat-run inner cities were always shitholes to a large extent. I've just been surprised with how regular America seems to be going along with most of this COVID-1984 Controlavirus tyranny. How is it possible that the only state that didn't do any lockdowns is South Dakota? I would have thought we would have more sane states than that. Also, I thought regular people would just defy these unconstitutional orders on a much larger scale. I've been deeply disappointed.

86
buckiemohawk 86 points ago +86 / -0

They are not listening to science at this point. This whole pandemic was over weeks ago and then it turns it most people are asymptomatic or get a tiny fever and are better in a few days

50
stratocaster_patriot 50 points ago +50 / -0

They are not scientific people which is why they talk about it so much. When they say 'listen to the science' what they really mean is apply the classic logical fallacy of "appeal to authority". It is nothing more than that and they are still completely ignorant of science.

17
buckiemohawk 17 points ago +17 / -0

I mean when people thin Fauci is an actuall Dr we've gone way too far and ignore the actual science

8
RonJoner 8 points ago +12 / -4

Appeal to authority is not a fallacy. An expert’s opinion in their area is legitimate support for an argument. Appeal to improper authority is the fallacy, like when athletes tell you to buy a certain car or whatever.

10
deleted 10 points ago +10 / -0
7
RonJoner 7 points ago +7 / -0

Indeed. The main idea underlying scientific inquiry is that very little is settled.

Science is about questioning everything.

4
Mr_Noh 4 points ago +4 / -0

I'd go as far as to say that nothing is truly settled, not "very little", but that's more a quibble than any substantial disagreement.

If "the science is settled", then it's not science, it's dogma.

4
stratocaster_patriot 4 points ago +4 / -0

It is a fallacy when argument is considered settled simply by getting an expert to back up the point you are making. When you offer data and use an expert to interpret that can be OK but saying, as they do, "the science is settled and all expert agree" and leaving it at that, it is a fallacy and this is exactly what they do.

2
RonJoner 2 points ago +2 / -0

They're just lying. All experts rarely agree in science. That's why we call it "science".

3
zabbers 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's an argumentative technique, no better than appeal to pathos or any other.
Asking an "expert" their opinion or something can certainly be valuable, but making broad statements like "experts agree..." isn't. Economics "experts" at the Fed are more often wrong than not.

2
RonJoner 2 points ago +2 / -0

You can attack the credibilty of the expert, or you can criticize the implication of their argument. But it's completely valid to appeal to authority if it is indeed the proper authority. For example, Richard Feynman's paper about the Challenger was an argument from an expert. His argument was accepted precisely because of his expertise. If he argued that I should drive a Ford, I would reject that as an appeal to improper authority.

2
zabbers 2 points ago +2 / -0

An appeal to false authority is a related but different fallacy.

In that same vein, wouldn't it show more journalistic integrity / accuracy to say "Joepedo" instead of "mr. Biden"?

Then when it obviously doesn’t work because it is a virus and you will never stop the spread of said virus because that’s how viruses work based on science the Karen’s get scared in the governors say OK, will keep wearing masks because it makes you feel safe to get their vote. Not surprising. Trump got the amish to drive to the polls in 2016.

Even some Democrats worry that it will cause a backlash at the polls that could help Mr. Trump, who is trailing Democrat Joseph R. Biden in the key swing state.

It's fucking GEOTUS to you.

Someone needs to tell the author of this piece that it's President Trump, not Mr. Trump. GEOTUS would also suffice.

MSM is trying to refer to him as "Mr. Trump" instead of President Trump in any opportunity they get. Just saw it again in that article

Normal people understand sensible, voluntary measures. That's one of the reasons why you have so many people wearing masks. Normal people also understand that we have to balance between lives and livelihoods. Which is exactly what Trump is saying and doing. Saying that "it's a hoax" or "masks don't work" only appeals to those who want to believe and strongly turns off the normal electorate.
