These Democrat governors are doing as much turn states in favor of Trump as anyone else. I know that some people have hated that Trump left so much power in the hands of the states for Corona decisions, but I feel like it's going to pay off in the long term as people see what the Democrats are really about especially when they compare to Republican run states.

Normal people understand sensible, voluntary measures. That's one of the reasons why you have so many people wearing masks. Normal people also understand that we have to balance between lives and livelihoods. Which is exactly what Trump is saying and doing. Saying that "it's a hoax" or "masks don't work" only appeals to those who want to believe and strongly turns off the normal electorate.
