Understood, but wouldn’t you consider eliminating the individual mandate a free market approach? I get what you mean, and maybe it is a false compromise to kowtow to the preexisting conditions or equal premiums for men & women, but right now you can go out and openly buy a non-ACA Healthcare plan for dirt cheap compared to an ACA plan based on income, as I’ve done and now not face hundreds of dollars in penalties at the end of the year. I’m no expert, but I’m not so sure healthcare is an open market to begin with, the prices are extremely high and some of that might be related to government backed “insurance” like Medicare or Medicaid, similar to how college is so expensive partially because they can charge whatever they want and no one can rid themselves of this debt because it isn’t bankruptable and is backed by the government.
