In a country full of wretched, failed, Democratic governors I feel Fatzger has escaped scrutiny for his clownshow antics this year. I'm sure having Beetlejuice in the same state taking a lot of the heat has helped.

I get flooded with these stupid fair tax ads on YouTube. That alone is reason enough to vote against it, purely out of spite, which is exactly what I'll do.

It doesn't surprise me that people don't understand how percentage works, they can barely understand beyond "that's not fair!"

I'm amazed that people look at his ads and think any of that is real. That a waitress and a CEO pay "EXACTLY THE SAME TAX!" What an injustice!

How do people fail at understanding that the more you make the more you pay? Fuck Illinois.

Exactly. The ad is misleading in the sense that it implies that I and a billionaire would pay the exact amount of tax, say $1000, instead of saying it's the same percentage, which would make their overall cost a lot more. But no, they know what they are doing and it's 100% on purpose. Plus this tax allows for future tax raises as they please, which is not something I want the crooked Dem system in IL to thrive upon.

The fair tax is actually a better choice than income tax. Mike Huckabee has advocated for it for a long time. It would abolish the IRS since it would be a consumption tax. Many things would be exempt from tax if its a necessity of life like food etc. The rich wpuld pay more taxes because they consume more and they couldnt avoid taxes with offshore accounts, loopholes etc.

The problem would be making sure there are caps on how high the rate would be. As it is now, they can raise the rates at will by adding new taxes. It would be much harder to get the public on board for raising taxes when they only have one tax rather than hundreds of differrnt taxes.
