You bet! An AR build is very rewarding and you can easily do it with very few specialized tools. Do your research first but do not be afraid to dive in!
Midway have a good guide ,as someone who has built over 20 my advice is to buy the best assembly tools you can afford as once you take the initial step of building one you will be building for years to come & many of the tools are handy workshop tools any way & good quality tools make it far easier & quicker,some of the tools sold are just junk .
