That’s a REALLY high number, and I know it isn’t happening around here

It's not happening anywhere. It's coming from surveys of children. Literally children being asked if they ever go to bed hungry. My children eat three square a day and have every day of their lives, but all three of them thought they were supposed to answer yes to that question because they have all gone to sleep hungry in their lives when I tell them "No, you can't have dessert, you didn't eat your dinner and threw a fit about having to eat vegetables. I don't care if you're hungry, actions have consequences, now go to bed!"

They don't understand that it's a political question about whether they have enough food in their house or not. They just answer the question
