With exception to the RINO's who are outright leftist plants, I believe spineless is indeed the proper term. Most of the Republicans think Trump is a transient anomaly and the Democrats are going to retake everything in November. Once November proves them wrong and the Democrats find themselves completely without ammo or influence, there will be no cost to jumping on the bandwagon and they'll join in.
