Dennis Kucinich in 08 was a reasonable liberal analog to Ron Paul. Jim Webb in 2016 wasn't bad either. When asked which enemy he was most proud of having at one of the Dem debates, he said the Vietcong he iced after he had thrown a grenade at Webb.
Dennis Kucinich did wonders in 1978 when he refused to sell the publicly owned Cleveland Power Plant (CPP) to a number of banks, which were heavily invested in CPP's largest privately owned competitor, the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company (better known as CEI or The Illuminating Company) refused to roll over the city's debt, as had previously been customary. This was seen as a bad move at the time; unable to pay its debts, the city became the first since the Great Depression to enter default, which cost Kucinich his job in next year's mayoral election. However, Kucinich's decision was later vindicated by both city officials and the U.S. Senate, which found that CEI and the banks had acted improperly.
While the CPP can't provide power for the entire city of Cleavland, it's presence is enough to give multiple options to people who need to power their homes and has helped prevent price gouging from having just one company provide power.
They kept playing the scream "YAHH" on repeat over and over, with comedians commentaries saying things like "Oh, that's embarrassing. How could anyone vote for someone who does something like this."
Soon, no one was talking about Dean's policies, his stances on issues. It was just about the scream.
They killed the only good one, to put in one of the worst ever. JFK had his character flaws, but it was obvious he loved the country and did a lot of good. LBJ was probably the worst thing to happen to our country between pearl harbor and Barack Obamas presidency.
I actually remember this! I was in 7th grade and for whatever reason, we were watching this political channel in class, and the reporter's were saying how much it hurt his chances of winning. I just remember thinking, "I don't understand, what's the big deal?"
It only ruined his campaign because the media gaslighted people to believe that. He would have been slaughtered by Bush according to polling, so the media pulled the plug
I remember the scream. When I saw it on TV, I didn't think anything of it. The next day all you hear is the media and talking heads calling it 'crazy.' John Kerry went to Yale. He is Skull and Bones. Skull and Bones Kerry wanted Dean gone. Dean got gone. NEVER trust anyone from Yale.
It didn't. The media choosing to focus on it did. The media used to have the power to end anyone they wanted to. Then Trump happened and broke their system.
In retrospect, Dean seems like the most reasonable Dem we’ve seen in decades.

There’s a name I haven’t heard in quite some time.
To be fair that is because ANY dem more than 10 years ago would
Because it was a manufactured scandal. Dean wasnt the preferred candidate of the DNC.
People forget the reason for the scream in the first place. This wasn't a rally.
He had just lost New Hampshire badly and was watching his aspirations crash in real time.
The scream didn't make his campaign collapse. His campaign collapsing made him scream.
I dont think the scream was that bad. Certainly doesn't touch all the stuff Joe Biden does
How is that scream even bad?
Democrats will turn anything into a ruined life, in this case a nerdy squeal for glee
Edit: was a helmet for Michael Dukakis
I could have honestly sworn it sounded waaay weirder back in the day.
Yet, it's absolutely normal ... fucking media.
Biden does the touching
The DNC ruined Dean and used the media to do it.
And retard Biden saying " They're going to put y'all back in chains," should've ended his political career forever.
👆 Foreigner
...Seriously? what happened? how could that one scream be his undoing?
The media hyped it up as a manufactured blunder.
They kept playing the scream "YAHH" on repeat over and over, with comedians commentaries saying things like "Oh, that's embarrassing. How could anyone vote for someone who does something like this."
Soon, no one was talking about Dean's policies, his stances on issues. It was just about the scream.
That's absurd... I don't think there was a time the Democratic party was even close to being decent
They killed the only good one, to put in one of the worst ever. JFK had his character flaws, but it was obvious he loved the country and did a lot of good. LBJ was probably the worst thing to happen to our country between pearl harbor and Barack Obamas presidency.
That's f-ing stupid. Wow.
I remember this happening when I was in High School and it being a big wake up call that politics was completely controlled by media.
That reminds me of a certain binder full of women. XD
Look, fat, here's the deal: EEEEEEYEAAAAH!!
I actually remember this! I was in 7th grade and for whatever reason, we were watching this political channel in class, and the reporter's were saying how much it hurt his chances of winning. I just remember thinking, "I don't understand, what's the big deal?"
Never heard of it again until now.
Same here. Did not understand what the big deal was. Turns out- it wasn't. But the media propaganda regarding it- now that was a big deal.
YAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
It only ruined his campaign because the media gaslighted people to believe that. He would have been slaughtered by Bush according to polling, so the media pulled the plug
Because the coroporate MSM doesn't show the Biden gaffes on national tv.
That was actually quite pleasant. The news media is a cancer of this country.
Dean was destroyed because he wanted to reach out to white working class men and women.
When your party is dedicated to eradicating a group of people and you want to win them over with policy and PR? You gotta go.
Sucked. I was legit into him as a candidate. He got done dirty.
MAGA
I remember the scream. When I saw it on TV, I didn't think anything of it. The next day all you hear is the media and talking heads calling it 'crazy.' John Kerry went to Yale. He is Skull and Bones. Skull and Bones Kerry wanted Dean gone. Dean got gone. NEVER trust anyone from Yale.
Byaahh!
I don't even understand how that 'doomed' his run. Did it make him look unhinged or something?
It didn't. The media choosing to focus on it did. The media used to have the power to end anyone they wanted to. Then Trump happened and broke their system.
Pretty much.
BAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
YEEEEEEAAAHHH!!!!
They do what the media tells them to do
Yeah. Good one.
YEEAAAAGHHH
Yeah, I imagine far fewer Democrat office holders saw themselves in prison during Bush's second term than they do with DJT's second go.
What did he do wrong? Havent been a democrat candidate with this much energy since JFK discovered Doctor Feelgood
