Emotion is definitely their tactic. I'd had always heard that they always played more towards emotion but I never really understood how so until these past few months, they're really good at throwing crocodile tears around but other than that they're full of bullshit
Do some research on Central and Peripheral Routes of Persuasion and it’ll blow your mind how often the left uses Peripheral. The left uses the more emotional Peripheral Route all the time because it distracts from the illogic of what they’re saying. TV Commercials also heavily use peripheral route.

How would you categorized their continuously repeating of lies well after they have been disproven - Russia hoax / dirty dossier, white supremacy ("good people"), trash talking the troops, failing to respond to COVID, tax evasion, etc.?

The half-joking aside, we could deep dive that question if you really wanted to, but most people don’t find it very fun. Because there are many psychological pathways to the same behavior, and most of those pathways are not as devious as we often glibly say, it humanizes the majority of the people who end up doing contemptible things. It’s deeply humbling to realize that outside certain circumstances outside my control, there’s a good chance many of us could have been as deluded or devious as the Left we mock.
No wonder my psychology teacher in high school was a republican! This is really interesting.
Glad you actually looked it up! I always found that particular research fascinating. I’m surprised that your psych teacher was a Republican! A big majority of mental health professionals are deeply Democrat and have full-blown TDS.
