How would you categorized their continuously repeating of lies well after they have been disproven - Russia hoax / dirty dossier, white supremacy ("good people"), trash talking the troops, failing to respond to COVID, tax evasion, etc.?

(Ps that’s a good movie, and about the only Steve Martin movie I enjoy. Well, that and Little Shop of Horrors.)
The half-joking aside, we could deep dive that question if you really wanted to, but most people don’t find it very fun. Because there are many psychological pathways to the same behavior, and most of those pathways are not as devious as we often glibly say, it humanizes the majority of the people who end up doing contemptible things. It’s deeply humbling to realize that outside certain circumstances outside my control, there’s a good chance many of us could have been as deluded or devious as the Left we mock.
