I can't count how many times I've heard, "REEEEEE! The President has nothing to do with gas prices!" OK. Tell that to Jimmy Carter.

In texas they do teach it in schools. It was part of my economics class. Fixed prices lead to gas station lines a mile long.

That's not a good feeling remembering those numbers...especially before cars cared about gas mileage

I remember paying $50+ to fill up my little crap car back when I was in college on student worker pay and it hit $4.30 a gallon. I drove 40 minutes in to classes each day, and that sucked up $400+ a month. :/

The Dems would probably raise taxes on gas to discourage "excess driving". Food prices would rise, construction prices would rise, everything. All industries work with fossil fuels to get their jobs done. It would be a disaster of epic proportions.

Fossil fuels doesn't real anyway. Ask yourself, why are there hydrocarbons in space? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abiogenic_petroleum_origin

Michigan Here. Mid Lockdown, I filled up my truck for $1.01/gallon.... 1.99 on my last fillup.

Also Michigan, I was getting it for close to that too. Told my wife if it got <1.00 I was going to blast "Party like it's 1999" while filling up.

john_smokin 1 point ago +1 / -0

I can get this low in Utah, but you have to shop/spend so much at a grocery store to get the benefit

The only good thing about it is being able to buy trucks for decent prices.

Just paid 1.99 at Costco. First time I've seen gas Uber two bucks in a very long time other than living in Texas for a bit. Good bless Donald Trump!

I remember writing to every Rep I had saying, what BS these prices were..the money this was taking right from groceries and going to gas was unconscionable. Don't forget the Democrats were in charge then as well. Taking all that M/E money.

Yeap, my familily is like "he is only raising taxes on the 400K and up club". I'm like ENERGY will go through the roof. Gas will be at 3.00 plus a gallon in months after he is elected and only go higher. Electricity, heat natural gas will increase as well. Its not just straight up taxes that is going to hurt the middle class. But they are sheep and just dont get it.
