It's because they can't be criticized or you're a "bigot." Even if the criticism has absolutely nothing to do with their life choices and everything to do with their policies. So they just force their way into political positions by latching onto the pity vote. Of course, after that they show their true colors and people turn on them really quickly.
This is why Affirmative Action is bad. It injects people (Kamala Harris and Corey Booker and Susan Rice, for example) who are not otherwise qualified into high level positions. All of Obama's people, his generation and his "diversity people," are Affirmative Action hires and beneficiaries, and you can hear it when they speak.
Listen to Condoleezza Rice speak and watch her play one of the many instruments she plays. She is indisputably brilliant. Thomas Sowell, indisputably brilliant. They are absolutely NOT products of Affirmative Action.
