MN has a long history of third party politics, and the blue streak through most of the 20th century is actually because the Farmer-Labor party became so dominant, that the state Dems went for a merger to make the current DFL party to stay relevant. Their power base was working class citizens in farming or industry. It's not surprising they went for the lightweight communist class-based rhetoric of the DFL back in those days. That party actually did listen and did care a little about their concerns.

Times have changed. Dems have abandoned the working class, and they swapped their (failed) class-based rhetoric for a race/ethnic-based division, which doesn't play well with their old constituents. Industrial jobs have been shipped off, and now the Dems depend on white-collar government worker unions. So many people who put their faith in the old DFL have left for Trump territory in response. I'm starting to see Biden signs now in some of the farm areas, suggesting they still thing the Dems have a better offer (maybe a long-term opportunity here), but the current base is the woke left in the urban core that bleeds into the suburbs. The challenges here are now the same as every other state at this point. We need to convince those urban dwellers that Dem policies have failed them, that woke insanity will destroy us and to give new management and new ideas a try. That so many are newer arrivals makes that job harder: they haven't witnessed the history of the areas they move to; they bring in their own preconceptions based on their old homes.

This isn't the left coast, or Illinois. We're not insolvent and there is still enough sense and integrity to support the kind of awakening that will put this country back on the path to greatness. We just have to keep opening eyes, waking people up, and convincing them to embrace greatness rather than managed decline. I know that the 10 votes here aren't key to reelection, and he's likely to be denied them anyway due to cheating or certification delays, but winning MN would be such a powerful symbol of the rise of MAGA and the defeat of the Deep State operation, that I continue to pray for it. Keep up the faith, and keep up the struggle, and it could happen. Trump is probably the first president since Nixon to speak to those old DFL voters; a lot of them are listening.
