I was in the Navy then and met a couple shipmates who were on board the Vinson when it happened. They told me all movement on the ship was ordered to cease and no one was allowed top side. A chopper flew on. . . Did whatever they did and flew back off. No one on the ship saw a damned thing. You'd think they would have used it as a morale boosting win and photo op.
