To the best of my knowledge, it was declassified but never ended (take Chris Wallace for example).
I remember in 2016 seeing a picture of Anderson Cooper with about 6-8 different security guards at an airport and thought, “Hmmmmmmm...that’s strange given our congressman sometimes aren’t given any like at baseball games, Rand Paul, etc.”
Back in the day Mr. Cooper did real reporting from some seriously fucked up war zones and needed bodyguards. He needed a big contingent in case some of the cadre might have tried to grab him. As well, a few spots went bad and he saw guys evaporate from explosives.
Deep state, permanent political class, whatever you want to call them must have noticed this. They must have noticed in the past that the only thing holding them to account was the media. So cue the takeover of the media, and then they're untouchable.
Democrats used to have better arguments, and they got what they wanted, and now they dont see to want anything but power, they wont admit Obamas admin weaponized the intel and state department againat political opposition.
As long as they benefit from it they will never acknowledge it. Only if it turns in the opposite direction will they call it out. Without double standards they have none.
Agreed. 30 yrs in MSM (ended O/C as top 10 station anchor) and 2 decades as a producer at ABC News. It was NOT like this from the 1970s up till obama was anointed. If you watch old Nightline or World News Tonight or 60 Mins it was a profession I was proud to be a part of. Hard questions to everyone- liberally slanted to be sure but many a political ox was gored. News was news and it was actually good
I'd agree with 60 minutes and Nightline to a point. They would go after the story but they still went at it with a point of view. They just didn't let Democrats off the hook at every chance. Now it's a complete joke.
Used to be a local news director for a small stand alone AM station in the Monterey Bay Area...yup--news was news. If one wanted real reporting from real men..catch the reports from Ernie Pyle and other war-time correspondents.
Have you noticed that around the same time (Obama's second term), they started removing the comments sections from news websites and online newspapers? It's because readers were calling the biased journalists out on their bullshit and redpilling the other readers.
Yeah I remember when FOX started dominating cable TV, CNN tried to promote a more somber "middle of the road" straight news image as an alternative to their flashy "news-magazine" competition.
Obviously their old reputation has stuck with idiotic normies, despite them being in full on 24/7 TDS rage mode now.
Imagine how much harder it would be to push this Leftist bullshit if anyone in MSM applied even 5% of the criticism/opposition leveled at Trump.
I heard in the past MSM journalists used to do this. I’m not sure this has ever been the case in my adult life.
There’s a reason.
OperationMockingbird
What do they call it now? That’s declassified and widely known.
Operation Cunts, I think that is the new name.
Yeah, my anonymous source told me the same thing.
To the best of my knowledge, it was declassified but never ended (take Chris Wallace for example).

Little Anderson Vanderbilt clearly must be more valuable than your run-of-the-mill Steve Scalise or Rand Paul. Interesting. Thanks.

"What do they call it now?"
Sedition.
Smith-mundt act

Oz was always behind the curtain, we just have seen the curtain fall in recent times.
That’s why they want to regulate the internet. It was the internet that exposed them.
That's what I believe too. Communication and freethought is/was their downfall. It always has been throughout history.
The truth is a profound force, it will always find a way. It cannot be stopped, not even by pure evil. It cannot be stopped. ;-)

Former MSM journalist here. No, they never did this. At least not since the 60s.

Yep exactly right
In the early 2000's (2004-2007ish) CNN was somewhat tolerable
