I don't know. I think there's truth in that, but I also think Sanders could have energized the youth vote in a way no one else ever has. And although older voters skew conservative a little bit, I don't think it's as much as you think.
A lot of older people are from a generation that was raised to trust the news, and they believe all the media lies without applying critical thought. I know some of them.
I respect that but I don't think the uptick in youth vote would have outweighed the fact that the old folks lived through the cold war and more. Hating commies is an instinct for them.
