Hey Pedes sorry this is more of a question but it will help me take on soft normies that we could shift over prior to Election Day, especially with the attention ACB is getting and how awesomely pro life Pence was at the debates. I’m happy that Trump now feels like Superman post covid. We’ll need him to so we can send a clear message to the DC swamp creatures. But now my normie friends are saying “why is Trump trying to restrict fetal tissue research when he took Regeneron which used it.” I did my research and yes there were cells used from an elective abortion in 1973 in the Netherlands. But the cells from that known as HEK-293 freely sub divide and are widely used due to their stability. I’m no scientist but it sounds like these are embryonic cells harvested long ago and then subsequently cultured and carried forward. I am 100% against any kind of research that somehow encourages abortion but I’m not sure how to refute this. The GOP platform rightly prohibit stem cell research but Trump benefited from a drug developed in part with them. Does anyone have a clarifying point of view on this? If someone wants to donate cells to science sure. But I draw the line on using aborted embryos or fetuses. I cannot support that.

Friend of mine was on HCQ for something unrelated to covid. Tested positive after hitting an anti lockdown rally. Barely felt anything! I told him he needs to wear a ribbon saying “had covid and all I got was this stupid ribbon” we need more people to wake up and realize this is like the regular old flu. Dangerous for some yes but the vast majority it will bounce right off you

Stem cells are found in many parts of the adult body not just in embryonic tissue. My understanding is that the fetal tissue is just a collection site which yields "more". But it isn't as if the world would be deprived of stem cells should fetal tissue become unavilable.

Start loving fat people!   :)

For believe it or not, "fat" is a good source of stem cells.  I am not completely sure they can be utilized for everything yet.  But that's more due to the fact that science is not a major interest of mine.  Someone with better knowledge would probably be able to tell you the extent of their usage. Realize also that stem cells harvested from other parts of the body have different usages.

But here's one article that describes what stem cells from "fat" are presently being used for:

I hear you. But it isn’t just for me. It’s for a few normie friends. I am close and have refuted everything they’ve thrown at me. This one left me wondering.

They can do that with placental stem cells nowadays. Embryonic stem cells are not used in the production of regeneron only during its R+D and testing

There's another fake news article on r/politics (like any other day) that features a false claim that Regeneron, the company that developed the experimental drug cocktail that Trump took, used Human embryonic stem cells in the antibody cocktail research.

The source is a twitter post linking to the company's policy on stem cells usage.

https://www.regeneron.com/sites/default/files/Regeneron-Position-Stem-Cell-Research.pdf

Although they say that they're using embryonic stem cells in limited experimental trials, nowhere does it state that in this specific drug cocktail that trump took, used embryonic stem cells. Here's a link to the paper they published regarding REGN-COV2 (the antibody cocktail that trump took)

https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.08.02.233320v1.full.pdf

They used FBS (Fetal Bovine Serum) which is made from cows and pretty much all the other culture and cell mediums used there do not contain any human embryonic cells.

But cells originally derived from a fetus were used in another way. According to Regeneron, laboratory tests used to assess the potency of its antibodies employed a standardized supply of cells called HEK 293T, whose origin was kidney tissue from an abortion in the Netherlands in the 1970s. From the 70s lol

Ya, I’m pretty sure Blumenthal was stealing valor around this time and Biden was starting his political career after lying about where he went to school.

Amazing. Thank you Pede. This is exactly what I was looking for. Dispelled the fake news and slam dunked the truth. PS. Fuck the NBA.
